What recruiters need to know!
Based on the success of the T&L Fall Career Day,we will continue with the same format of 6 one-on-one interview sessions in the morning followed by the T&L Employer Expo, which will be similar to a traditional Career Fair. This format will give recruiters a chance to meet more potential candidates. Companies that attend the morning session are expected to participate in the Expo, while some companies will attend the Expo only.
How the interview schedule is determined:Student resumes are posted on a password protected website, and the link is sent to recruiters who canreviewresumes and request interviews with specific candidates using a ranking system (#1 being their first choice). Students willrank companiesbased on position descriptions and research on the company.
Preferences of recruiters and students are entered into a mathematical model that computes an interview schedule based on these preferences. For example, if a recruiter picks a student as their #1 choice and the student picks the company as their #1 choice they are guaranteed to have an interview. Recruiters that attend the Expo only will not rank candidates.
Interview schedules will be sent to recruiters and students a 2-3 days prior to the event.
Students are urged research the companies they are interested in and prepare for an interview, however it is not unusual that last minute changes will give recruiters a chance to sit down with students that were not on the original list. Recruiters will also meet students at the T&L Expo.
Interviews are held in 20 minute time blocks with a 10 minute break between sessions.Lunch issponsored by Yusen Logistics andwill be available at 11:50 a.m.Feel free to eat with your colleagues and students, or use the time as a working lunch. Recruiters will return to the ballroom after lunch for the T&L Employer Expo (Career Fair). C.H. Robinson is hosting a networking reception from2-3:30 p.m. and we encourageyou to stop byafter the Expo to networkwith students, alumni and colleagues in a casual setting. Students are required to attend.
