World Religions Faire

Your group is to create an engaging booth and presentation about the feature religion in your lit circle booth. You will decorate your booth as a team to represent your religion and/ or lit circle book. Then, each team member will create an event or experience at the booth for visitors to enjoy and learn about the faith and text. Each group member must choose one of the following (no repeats!). Then, write a brief script (2-3 minutes) to explain your book, religion, and item/ experience. Honors must choose an italicized option.
Booth Activity Options (Each group member chooses a different activity):
- Feature an artifact from the faith and explain its significance
- Offer a food to visitors that is significant in the faith, let visitors eat it, and explain the significance based on the book and religion
- Teach a dance or ritual that is significant in the faith and in your lit circle book, and explain its importance in the text or religion
- Wear a garment or have garments available that relate to your feature religion for visitors to wear and explain their significance
- Create a short documentary about your feature religion using information and pictures that represent the faith. Make sure to cite sources!
- Create a commercial advertising your lit circle book—make sure to include information on your feature religion. Make sure to cite sources!
- Create a “magazine” about your religion, featuring two or more recent news stories related to the faith. Use pictures and formatting to make the product eye-catching and professional. Make sure to cite sources!
- Teach visitors a greeting and important vocabulary related to your religion
- Offer visitors an experience i.e. hand painting, etc.
