1. Features
- The Single Price Adapter provides wiring and signal adapting between the Bill Acceptor ST03 or ST43 with MDB interface and COINCO Changer 9360-S in the Single Price Vending Machine.
- The Adapter converts interface of the Bill Acceptor into Isolated Pulse output and INHIBIT LINE input which are compatible with COINCO Changer 9360-S communication signals for bill acceptors.
- The Adapter has two levels of protection from a faulty «credit» signal.
- The Adapter supplies the Bill Acceptor with the power of 115 VAC from the same COINCO Changer 9360-S communication connector for bill acceptors.
- The Adapter provides electrical insulation between the circuitry of the Bill Acceptor and the circuitry of the Changer.
2. Precautions
The electronic components should not be allowed to get wet at any time.
3. Installation
To install the Adapter, follow the steps described below (part numbers are from the Functional Diagram, Section 3):
1) Mount the Adapter in a proper place.
2) Connect 8-pin connector of the adapter harness to the connector of the Bill Acceptor;
3) Connect 3-pin connector of the adapter harness to the mating connector of the power supply PS04 (24 VAC);
4) Connect 2-pin connector of the adapter harness to the mating connector of the power supply PS04 (115 VAC);
5) Connect 12-pin connector of the adapter harness to the mating COINCO Changer 9360-S communication connector for bill acceptors.
4. Interface Description
The Adapter converts interface of the Bill Acceptor (signals: MRXD master receive output, additional AD_OUT output and additional AD_IN input) into the Isolated Pulse Interface (signals: PULSE OUT1,2 and INHIBIT LINE+,-).
The Bill Acceptor accepts bank notes if the voltage within the range of +4V .. +24V is applied between INHIBIT LINE+ and INHIBIT LINE- wires. Additionally, AD_IN input is set HIGH (See Input/Output Circuitry, Section 6, and Timing Diagram, Section 9). Depending on the denomination of the accepted bank note and the pulse-per-dollar factor, the Adapter sends certain number of pulses with fixed time intervals to the Changer through PULSE OUT1,2 outputs. The pulse-per-dollar factor and time intervals are set with the Bill Acceptor DIP switches.
The Adapter generates PULSE OUT credit pulses in the AND-gate. The AND-gate generates pulses, provided both of the following conditions are met:
Condition 1 - the Adapter receives a pulse of fixed duration from the AD_OUT output of the Bill Acceptor
Condition 2 - the Adapter receives a pulse sequence of fixed frequency from the MRXD output of the Bill Acceptor. This pulse sequence is filtered by the RC-filter and the compared of the Adapter. The output signal of the comparator is a signal enabling the second input of the AND-gate to generate the credit pulse output.
The optocouples provide electrical insulation between the circuitry of the Adapter connected to the Bill Acceptor and the PULSE OUT and INHIBIT LINE circuitry connected to the Changer.
