FINANCIAL REPORT:MOTION TO APPROVE BY ERVIN, 2ND BY HALLORAN

YTD SPENDING IS $9,073.96; BUDGET IS $33,000.

MANISTEE COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION - YTD RETURNS 15.9%;

BALANCES: ENDOWMENT - $135,348.70; WETLANDS - $5,863.04; ANNUAL FUND - $42,537.95.

MARY TO FOLLOW UP WITH LAURA HEINTZELMAN AT MANISTEE COUNTY

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION TO CONFIRM END OF YEAR TAX FILING IS

COMPLETE.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

NOMINATING COMMITTEE - 2017 SLATE OF OFFICERS WILL BE EMAILED TO THOSE

MEMBERS WITH EMAIL ADRESSES. DISCUSSION FOLLOWED

REGARDING VOTING ECTRONICALLY.

MAY NEED TO DO A BI-LAWS CHANGE TO ACCOMODATE ELECTRONIC

VOTING.CURRENETLY IS NOT ADDRESSED IN THE BYLAWS.

EDUCATION - “EVERYONE LIVES DOWNSTREAM” PRESENTATION BY KAYLA KNOLL AT NOVEMBER 29, 2016 ANNUAL MEETING. INVITATIONS WILL BE SENT TO MEMBERS

PLWF WILL SEND AN ARTICLE TO THE MANISTEE CONSERVATION

DISTRICT TO BE INCLUDED IN THE FIRST MANISTEE WATERSHED

LETTER REQUESTING TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATIONS..

WATER QUALITY/ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING

LRBOI – SHAUGH BARNETT REPORTED ON SOME OF THE PROJECTS THEY

ARE WORKING ON AND THEIR GRANT FUNDS.

100 WOMEN WHO CARE GRANT WILL PAY FOR $500 BILL FROM PLM FOR

THE UPSTREAM FALL SURVEYING.

USE OF DRONES TO MONITOR SEPTIC TANK STATUS WAS DISCUSSED..

NEW BUSINESS- SIMONS AND ENGLISH WILL DISMANTLE SCARECROW.

HALLORAN WILL MAINTAIN THE 2 DISPLAY BOARDS AT THE BOAT

LAUNCHES AND UPDATE IF NECESSASRY FOR THE WINTER

OLD BUSINESS - WATERSHED PLAN UPDATETO BE COMPLETED BY 2018.

GRANT APPLICATION WAS SUBMITTED TO MIDEQ. TOTAL 62,000

MINIMUM USE OF CONSULTANTS – AES TO ASSISTCOUNCIL

BENZIE/CRYSTAL RECENTLY UPDATED THEIR WATERSHED PLAN AND

RECEIVED APPROVAL IN OCTOBER. IT IS A GREAT PLAN AND IS ONLINE.

COUNCIL MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO REVIEW IT.

REED ASKED FOR VOLUNTEERS TO FORM A COMMITTEE TO BEGIN PROCESS. WILL NEED TO DETERMINE STEERING COMMITTEE MEMBERS

AND POTENTIAL PARTNERS.

PUBLIC COMMENT – AL TAYLOR NOTED THAT THE TOWNSHIP WILL BE USING THREE

CONSULTANTS TO ASSIST IN THE REVIEW OF THE PORTAGE POINT INN

SPECIAL USE REQUEST. THESE WILL BE FUNDED BY THE INN.
