1  Purpose:

The purpose of this procedure is to define the process for procuring parts for instruments manufactured in Miami and not available through the ORACLE/Finished Goods Control System through Miami Instrument Manufacturing. NOTE: Part numbers requested that are ActControl status in Oracle will NOT be processed using this method.

This procedure is not intended to be used in a MAYDAY situation. Manual part handling and parts availability may prevent next day delivery.

6  Requirements:

6.1  The Field Service Engineer will first obtain the correct part number. The first attempt to obtain the part number will be through the National Product Specialists group. If the part number cannot be obtained from the National Product Specialist, contact the appropriate Miami Technical Support Group for assistance.

6.2 The Field Service Coordinator will complete form USCOSVCP505001 Parts Request for Parts Not in Finished Goods Control System with all the necessary information.


6.3 The Requestor/Field Service Coordinator will forward the completed form to the following individuals through Lotus notes or to the E-mail addresses below:

6.4  Technical Support will review the parts request form for completion and will submit a CARES Add form for the additions of the part to the ORACLE/Finished Goods Control System.

6.5  The Expeditor will update the request form with the estimated value for each part if the request is to be shipped outside the U.S.

6.6  The Expeditor will obtain and package the requested part(s) and deliver the package to the Miami Business Center Mail Room for processing.

6.7  The Expeditor will ensure the parts shipped are charged to the cost center identified in the request form.

6.8  The Mail Room will ensure the part(s) are shipped and all shipping charges are applied to the FedEx / DHL account number specified in the request form.

6.9  The Mail Room will provide the carrier and the waybill number to all email contacts contained within this form.
