Ark City Top Gun Baseball Tournament Rules
- Coaches must check in & submit roster before first game… rosters must have all players listed that will be participating in any tourney games. Copy of birth certificate required if challenged, Age as of May 1 of current year. NBC teams required to sign roster@ check in, prior to first game
- No team registration refunds will be given after schedules have been sent out. Exception: In the event tournament is cancelled due to inclement weather full refund or credit will be given, if no games have been played. If tournament is cancelled after 1 day due to inclement weather ½ refund or credit will be granted
- Flip of coin before game will determine home team for pool games. Home team for bracket play will be team with highest seed after pool play. If 2 teams equal seeds, home team will be determined by coin flip
- Home team will keep official scorebook
- All rules will be official baseball and NBC rules, except for listed specified rules
- Game balls; Each coach will furnish 3 new quality game balls for each game
- Sportsmanship will be enforced for all players, coaches and spectators. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated and could result in disciplinary action (including suspension)
- Games: Teams need to be at fields ready to play 30-minutes prior to game:
- 8U, 10U & 12U (6-innings) with 1-hour 30-minute time limit
- 13U & 14U (7-innings) with 1-hour 45-minute time limit
- No new inning will start after time has expired. If visitors have started to bat, inning will be played out.
- Run Rules:
- 10U thru 14U; 20 runs / 2 innings, 15 runs / 3 innings, 10 runs / 4 innings, 8 runs / 5 innings
- 10U division… max of 6-runs per inning
- Field dimensions: 8U @ 43/60, 10U @ 46/65, 12U @ 50/70, 13U @ 54/80, 14U @ 60/90
- Infield fly rule enforced & 3rd strike rule enforced
- Free substitution rule
- Coaches must let umpire, opposing team & head score keeper know when making substitution
- Player must occupy same batting position as player they are subbing for
- Courtesy runner allowed for pitcher or catcher… if team only has 9 players or batting entire line-up, then player who made last out may become courtesy runner
- Pitching limitations:
- 10U & 12U – Pitcher may not throw more than 6-innings in 2 consecutive games
- 13U & 14U – Pitcher may not throw more than 7 innings in 2 consecutive games
- 1 pitch per inning constitutes 1 inning
- Coaches responsible to keep track of innings pitched
- Team may bat entire line-up, bat 9 or bat 9 with EH… whichever line-up team starts with they must let umpires, opposing team and scorekeeping know. No change after game starts
- Pool play:
- Pool play tiebreaker criteria… 1. Win/loss record 2. Head to head 3. Fewest runs allowed 4. Coin flip
- If pool play game tied after time limit expired… game will be considered tie
- Initial tournament information will be posted on our website Tuesday afternoon
- Updated information during the tournament will be posted on our facebook page which is Ark City Rec (this will include updates on pool play, bracket play and any rain situations)
- Steel cleats for ages 13 & older - exception: no steel cleats allowed on portable pitching mounds
- A manager, coach or player ejected from a game in progress, will be suspended for the remainder of that game and the subsequent game of the tournament.
