The Honorable______

Dear Governor______:

I am writing to ask you to proclaim April 25, 2008, as Parental Alienation Awareness Day in the state of ______. In 2000, past president, Clinton, issued a Proclamation declaring April to be National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Parental Alienation and Hostile Aggressive Parenting are emotional child abuse that breaks the bond between a child and a loving parent, and can leave permanent emotional scars on the child.

(At this point, you can relate just a brief synopsis of how Parental Alienation has personally affected your child(ren) and family). Perhaps the pain felt by the targeted parent, grandparents, and any other family members that have been rejected by the child(ren). Then, a brief description about the loss for the child (loss of grandparents, family, holidays, special events, love, care, guidance, support, missed opportunities, etc. )

I am doing my part to educate people about the harmful effects of Parental Alienation. Parental Alienation is emotional abuse. I hope that the education and understanding will one day give us the power to stop the abuse of innocent children who are caught up in the conflict between divorce parents. It is possible for ex-spouses to have a cooperative and working relationship for the sake of the children.

I have enclosed the Proclamation declaring April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Proclamations of Maine and Iowa declaring April 25th as Parental Alienation Awareness Day, some articles on Parental Alienation and April 25th, some brochures and pamphlets containing information about Parental Alienation, as well as a draft proclamation for your convenience. I encourage you to visit as it is a terrific website with a host of information about Parental Alienation and Hostile Aggressive Parenting.

Please proclaim April 25, 2008, as Parental Alienation Awareness day, in honor of the day when all children can give and receive all of the love they deserve.

Thank you, Governor. Wishing you all of the best!

Respectfully,

Your Initials
