ILP Completion Plan – Teacher’s Guide

General Information:
- To log in as a teacher:
- Username: KentuckyILP
- Password: SouthWarrenHS
- Advisor Password: ______
- This document is a guideline of tasks to be completed each day. You may go at a faster or slower pace than the guide. The important thing is that you have students complete all the required tasks.
- PLEASE go to the lab when you are scheduled. There is very little flexibility in the schedule, so go to the lab where and when you are scheduled to go. Every class has 3 scheduled sessions in the lab in November of 2011.
- DEADLINE: All students should have ILPs completed by April 5, 2012. This includes the annual review and student survey.
- If a student loses their username and password, you can look it up.
- You have a hard copy of all usernames and passwords.
- To complete the Annual ILP Review:
- Go to Your Students – View Student List
- Under View/Action choose Annual Review
- Then you will enter the date, your name, comments, and completion status.
- You can have the same comment for all of your students, but you must input them individually.

Day 1 – Introduction & Career Matchmaker
- Students will login to
- Give each student their login card
- Briefly show them the menu and what is available here
- Also tell students they need to save every change they make – on most pages this will be a button “Save to My ILP”.
- Click on Matchmaker at the top menu. (39 questions)
- Students enter their name here and complete a new survey.
- View results that show Top 40 List of careers.
- If time allows show how they can click on a career and look at specific information about it.
- If the career really interests them, they can click on “Save to ILP” on the left, and it will save it to their file.
- Eventually they will need to do this with at least two careers of their choice. The careers DO NOT have to be on their Top 40 list.
Day 2 – My Skills, Careers that Interest Me, Schools that Interest Me
- Login and click on Career Cruising at the left
- Under this menu, click on Career Matchmaker. Here students will see a Top 10 List of Careers.
- Click on Career Matchmaker at the bottom of this screen to see their Top 40 List of Careers.
- Click on My Skills on the right. Students will answer a set of 45 questions about the skills they possess.
- After they finish this, their Top 40 List will show how well their careers match their skills.
- If time allows show how they can click on a career and look at specific information about it.
- If the career really interests them, they can click on “Save to ILP” on the left, and it will save it to their file.
- Go to the top menu and click on Careers. Here students can search for a specific career and find out information about that career.
- Students need to save at least 2 careers to their ILP.
Day 3 – Careers that Interest Me, Schools that Interest Me, Goals
- Login and go to Career Cruising (left menu).
- Choose Careers that Interest Me
- Students can search here for careers that might not show on their Top 40 List.
- They can choose to add careers to their ILP.
- Choose Schools that Interest Me
- Here students can search for schools using the four search methods.
- Show students how to search and what information they can find out about the schools of interest.
- Students should select one school of interest and save it to their ILP.
- If time allows, get started on the Goals & Plans section (listed below).
Day 4 – Goals & Plans, Activities & Experiences
- Login and go to Goals & Plans (left menu).
- Each student must complete all sections of the Goals & Plans section. Have students work through this section and complete comments under each. They should save their changes at the bottom of the screen.
- Short/Long Term Goals – create at least one of each
- Career Cluster Interests – comments for at least 2 clusters
- Post Secondary Goals –
- Choose two Career Clusters & Top three Career Interests
- Choose level of education, and school choice
- Choose financial plans
- Career Planning Activities – list any activities that have been completed or plan to complete
- All students could list ILP Activities here; dates Jan 2011 – Present
- Career Interest Inventory; dates Jan 2011 – Present
- Any other tests: PLAN, PSAT, ACT
- Activities & Experiences – only complete two sections
- Organizations & Activities
- Community Service
- Education Plan – students should complete the classes they have taken this year, and classes they plan to take next year in this section.
***Before Day 5***
- Students & Teachers must complete comments in the Annual ILP Review Section
- On the ILP Page – Under Quicklinks, click on Annual ILP Review
- Select Advisor, and Date, and make any comments about their ILP
Day 5 – Annual Student Survey
After the teacher completes the Annual ILP Review for each student, students will be able to take a survey. This must be completed for everything to be finished for the school year.
