Dear Sir,
World health organization has already realized that Health for all can not be achieved only by the health of modern medicine and therefore, development of complementary and alternative medicines (CAM) of all the countries is of prime importance. In India, CAM covers several systems e.g. Ayurveda, homeopathy, siddha, unani, etc. and among them Ayurveda being the oldest has 3 types of medicines, that is herbal, bhasmas and animal products, but the use of bhasma medicine is facing a real challenge, though it is considered as the most effective among all. Since they are made of heavy metals, which have known toxicity, no conscious people is ready to take it. Because of this our ayurvedic products are not getting god access in the international market and limited to less than 2% share of its global export, where as China, our neighboring country has more than 25%.
To address this burning issue, there is a need of brain storming meeting on this issue with more focus on practical aspects focusing the development of standard objective parameters to define a standard product, its safety margin and also the mechanism behind its conversion from toxic metal to therapeutic bhasma.
Thus, our Foundation has organizing a national seminar on Novel tools of Nano-technology in Material Science and Geological techniques in Standardization of Ayurvedic Bhasma at Varanasi in association with other leading organizations. Resource persons will be from different disciplines from research organizations, administration, academia, industrial houses and consumers. You are cordially invited for this valuable academic event and to share your views for making a strong recommendation and future path of research work in this field.
All the interested participants cordially invited. They can register online (register online). The mode of seminar will be interactive sessions, where there shall be limited invited talks followed by active group discussion. Free presentation will be through posters, accompanied with 3-5 min discussion time in respective group discussion. However, all the abstracts will be published in the abstract book and selected paper in the proceeding as book. A satellite meeting / tour has been arranged in Allahabad (Prayag). For details one can logon We look forward to welcome you in ancient city of Lord Shiva.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Prof SN Tripathi Memorial Foundation ( is an NGO (928/92-93), established in 1992 on the initiative of Late Professor K N Udupa the founder Director of Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU to fulfil the incomplete goals of Late Professor S. N. Tripathi, the-then Dean Faculty of Ayurveda, member Executive council, Banaras Hindu University and a renowned physician & researcher of Ayurveda. Prof Tripathi had a firm belief that “Ayurvda is a Science and it can only be proved at the molecular level”. He was of the opinion that only good scientists and most advance laboratories can help in the proper development of Ayurveda.
The main objective of this Foundations is to use science and technology for the health management by using all possible tools such as education, research and development, community programme, media application and action plans. Till date, we have organized several health camps, seminars, health-mela and contract researches. We are publishing a health news-letter “Ayurvigyan bulletin” in Hindi (RNI Reg. No. UPBIL/2001/6057). Some of our initiatives have already been accepted by Govt of India, such as patenting issue of ayurvedic texts 1992 (formulated as TKDL data of CSIR) organized cultivation of medicinal plants 1993, (as medicinal plant board) and so on. In the last 1 year, we organized 3 national workshops and one 30 days training program to develop skill among the students of science, technology, biotechnology, pharmacy and doctors. All of them were sponsored by DRDO, DBT, CSIR, ICMR and Dept of ISM, Govt of India.
The foundation has good infrastructure to arrange seminar, symposia, workshops, short-term trainings, introductory courses in different subjects of medicine, agriculture, science and technology. Besides, we are giving opportunity to carry out summer and winter training and 6 months project work to the students of M Sc, B Sc and B tech, which is apart of their semester. We have also developed facilities for contract research and regular research for PhD students and industrial houses, who do not have enough facility at their host institution, like an incubator facility for researchers, on payment basis for in vivo experiments, microbial, plant and animal cell culture facility, associated with molecular biology, proteomics, genomics & Bioinformatics.
We have animal house, registered with Dept of Environment and Forest GOI (1067/C/07/CPCSEA) and our R and D centre is under process of recognition with DISR, Ministry of Science and Technology. For some advance techniques, we have established collaborations with leading institutions in India and Abroad.
Diagnostics, therapeutics, pharmacogenomics, bioinformatics, agriculture, industrial, environment biotechnologies aqua culture, drug development & standardization are some of the focuses of our research activities. We also run courses of alternative medicines, (Ayurveda and Homeopathy) to modern doctors for developing a holistic approach. Our Administrative Head Office is : 71 Krishna Bagh, Nagawa, Varanasi-221005 and Research and Development Centre is located on 1, Gandhi Nagar, Naria, Varanasi with 4000 Sq. feet of covered area.
FACILITIES : A hassle-free environment, with all teaching aids with 24-hour high speed internet connectivity, uninterrupted power supply, round the clock security, good maintenance of all equipment. It is an ideal place for any motivated knowledge seeker. Staff and faculty (in-house and visiting) are all very accessible for help and advice. The friendly, congenial atmosphere makes working a pleasure. We promote entrepreneurship through a club. In addition there are several programs for and by students in this field. In fact, we give small project through different industrial houses, who wish to take our help in developing their industries.
