Please state your opinions or process for changes if needed on the following topics:

SPENDING AND FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY OVER THE PAST FOUR YEARS
I would give it a B not an A.. I don’t want to be a Monday morning Quarterback.
OVERALL MANAGEMENT OF THE CITY ADMINSTRATION.
I think constant improvement of City Management should be a goal. Mr. Johnson should be held accountable for department heads performance and behaviors.
FRANKLIN TROLLEY SYSTEM- I understand that there are some federal dollars that helps support the Trolley system. As a City, we need to continue to monitor the progress of the System. Large trolleys may not be what is needed currently, however, smaller vans perhaps would serve our need
MTEMC FRANCHISE FEE- I attended the Forum with the City Board and the MTEMC Board. Bottom line, someone has to pay for the lines and infrastructure improvements. Are there opportunities for sharing the cost with MTEMC, perhaps yes.
SPENDING TAX PAYER MONEY FOR CCOF, HARLINSDALE, OTHER PASSIVE PARKS
I support open and Green spaces for our City. Properties such as these will create good open spaces however, the cost of such properties should not be the sole responsibility of the tax- payers.
HERITAGE FOUNDATION AND OVERALL PRESERVATION ACTIVITIES
I support Preservation as well as re-development. The neglected Natchez neighborhood is now an up and coming neighborhood because of the work I’ve done to bring attention to this area. It is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Now Churches and other private sources are addressing the need of several properties.
USING TAX PAYERS MONEY FOR A PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, SAVING THE THEATRE AND OTHER SUCH ACTIVITIES
I think there are great opportunities for private monies to support and save properties. I worked to save the “Green House” using a Private buyer. We the taxpayers got our money back, the property was restored by a private investor and the property is now producing tax dollars for our City..
INFRASTRUCTURE—It has to be done. Just think about your own home, things have to be fixed.
Your plumbing, electric, H20 systems will not last forever. Who pays for it-- we all do, just like traffic
GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT-Smart Growth and RE-development are good. However, It must include good traffic planning, Green spaces cost of City services.
SELECTION PROCESS FOR PLANNING COMMISSION AND OTHER COMMISSIONS
I think that there are great opportunities for improving the process. We don’t need a “stack” deck of interest groupies on a commission
PROPERTY TAX INCREASE. No increase--Growth should pay for itself.
TDRS- Need to learn more about this issue.. Every meeting I attended some of the TDRS members were still trying to understand the process.
WATER SHORTAGE- The City need to look to other sources other than the Harpeth River
SUNSHINE LAW- It’s a Law—follow it.
A BRIEF OUTLINE OF YOUR PERSONAL AND BUSINESS AFFILATIONS, EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND. I am a Nurse and I have lived in Franklin for over 22 years. My Husband and I raised our 3 children here and hope to see our grandchildren enjoy a good quality of life in Franklin.
WHY ARE YOU RUNNING?- The Citizens of Franklin deserves a Board that can do the business for the City in dignified and leadership fashion. I served on the Franklin Special School Board for 11 years. We were “Tennessee School Board of the Year 1998” Would our City Board make Board of the Year?
