Some concerns were expressed at how this amount had accrued and the Chairman said that clubs would be allowed up to the date of the August league meeting to settle their debts.

Some players taking advantage of a blank Saturday in the fixture list had booked holidays.. It was agreed that where the players shared a car for the journey that travel expenses be re-imbursed.

The League Under 12’s side lost against North Lancashire and their next match is away to the Palace Shield on July 16th at Kirkham.. the under 14s also lost and the Under 18s were beaten by the Bolton League. Their next game is at home to Ribblesdale and the under 21s play the Liverpool Competition at Littleborough on Tuesday 11th July.

are payable and that clubs still owing at end of the season would not be given clearance to leave. .

11. Pennine League / Greater Manchester League Progress report. Andy Young and Martin Harvey represented the league in the discussions with John Murphy / LCB. JM .was wanting to save the league , but with only 9 clubs not wanting to join the Gtr Mcr League this was not a viable proposition. Discussions centred on saving the four league domestic cups to maintain local cricket competition. The Gtr M/cr League made a commitment to make dates available in their fixture calendar so that ex Saddleworth League and Central Lancashire League clubs could play in the Tanner / Moore Cups and Wood /Burton Cups. It was thought that the Lancashire League had come to a similar arrangement . The League chairman congratulated AY and MH.on their efforts .

12. Inter League Meeting report. Held at Werneth 8th June..League Chairman Nigel Tench represented the league.

The first round of matches saw only game played , that between us (PCL) and the Liverpool Competition. In view of this lack of interest it was decided the senior competition should be scrapped and be replaced by an Under 25s Competition and it was suggested that the LCB take over the running of all Inter league Competitions.

Mr. Bobby Denning (Managing Director Lancashire Cricket Board) stated that he and the LCB worked well with all the league’s in Lancashire .

(N.B. This does not fit well with them Pennine League experience who have had no support from the LCB in allowing the Lancashire League to raid our clubs to sustain their own expansion programme, thereby creating a domino effect in the Pennine League making it not viable and leading to clubs having to join (not necessarily wanting to do) the Greater Manchester League. Something we warned him about.

13. Domestic Cup Fixtures Chairman confirmed semi Finalists for all the four competitions.

14. League Dinner 2017. In view of fact league will have effectively disbanded clubs were asked to vote whether or not they wanted one. Vote unanimously . NO . Secretary to notify venue of this.

15. Any other business. Greenfield wanted to know if sponsorship would be maintained for the remainder of this season . Informed that it was.

Reported that there was some poor behaviour by both the team and fans of Royton last weekend during their match with Werneth. Chairman said this will be monitored.

Chairman asked clubs that league trophies that have not been returned before the next meeting do so then.
