¡Enhorabuena! Has decidido ser parte de una clase FANTÁSTICA durante el año 2017/18. Estoy MUY emocionada ser tu profe en esta clase. Estoy segura de que nos divertiremos muchísimo mientras aprendemos mucho del lenguaje español y de las culturas hispanas. 

Oki - - I am SO excited to offer this Dual Enrollment/Honors Class to you! Since this class IS college level, it is my expectation that you will “keep up” with your Spanish knowledge during summer vacation.

In that vein, I am including some review activities of items from level 1 and 2 as well as some writing, reading and viewing activities (yes, I want you to watch some programming in Spanish) that need to be completed by our first class of the 2017/2018 school year.

Some important/needed information:

my email = - contact me with any questions at any time through

out the summer and school year

ALWAYS include your first AND last name on any correspondence with me

especially until school begins and I get to know you

COMPLETE ALL of the practices/review PRIOR to the first day of the 2017/2018

school year - work on these practices a little bit at a time to keep Spanish ‘fresh’ in your brain.

DO NOT USE TRANSLATION SITES FOR ENTIRE TEXTS –

for that random word you need, OR to find an alternate word (synonym), ONLY reference: (these are the only two sites you will be permitted to use during class)

spanishdict.com

wordreference.com (excellent for increasing your vocabulary when looking for

synonyms)

NOTE: ANY written piece turned in at ANY time during the course of this year that is a blatant result of using a translation site will result in a 0 for the grade and an “F” in citizenship for the quarter

The MOST important thing to know/remember is to TRY – you MUST SPEAK SPANISH as much and as often as possible. You must also make yourself ‘hear’ Spanish outside of class – this can be Spanish radio stations or TV stations, talking with heritage speakers, etc.

Tengo mucha confianza de que nos divertiremos mucho pero muchíSIMO mientras aprendemos y mejoramos la habilidad de comunicar/expresarnos en el español [I am VERY confident that we will have lots of fun while we learn and improve our ability to communicate/express ourselves in Spanish]

The attached pages include the activities that you are expected to have completed by dates given or, in many cases, at the LATEST by the first day of the 2017/2018 school year.

THE FINAL PAGE WILL BE TURNED IN TO ME THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS

Feel free to contact me with ANY question/concern – I check my school email frequently during the summer.
