As the leading French player in the fields of mechanical engineering innovation and R&D, Cetim has built up a wide network of partners. Its engineers and technicians operate in more than 30 countries each year.
R&D function is carried out either within specific sectors or cutting across sector boundaries, and within either a national or an international context. It embraces a range of complementary aspects, including prospective studies in conjunction with international scientific communities, R&D concerning all areas of mechanical engineering, industry-specific studies and projects, and the large-scale federative technological projects.
Cetim provides a comprehensive array of services to the mechanical engineering industry from consulting to testing and from engineering to training in new skills.
Cetim is amember of the Carnot Institutes network.

2)SPECIFIC INTEREST (Call, Topic) and EXPERTISE OFFERED

Relevant topic(s) in the Work Programme (Thematic area, Call, Topic)

Open Call S2R-OC-IP1-02-2017

Description of the expertise and competences offered related to the topic (up to 1000 characters)

•In condition monitoring, addressing the whole value chain from the development and integration of smart sensors, to the signal processing and the data analysis for decision making. CETIM has a strong experience on vibration condition monitoring for machines (rotating machines and reciprocating machines), but also in the combined analysis of several sensors to improve the monitoring. We have developed advanced signal processing methods in order to provide pertinent and robust indicators for machine condition monitoring, with applications to various equipment (pumps, compressors, winches, wind turbines, paper machines) and especially to equipment with varying operating conditions.
• In noise and vibrations, especially on gears, CETIM has developed experimental techniques including the set-up of special bench and mastering of noise environment to assess the sound power level of high power gear systems (speeds up to 8800rpm and loads up to 150N.m).
CETIM works on calculation of dynamics behavior of a single stage speed increaser gearing with simulation tools like Romax Designer and their coupling with vibro-acoustics specific codes like VA-One. This code enable also to perform general calculations on complex systems.
Particular interest and focus is set on the validation of prediction tools, establishment of design procedures and understanding of noise generation mechanism.
•In Polymer and composites materials, CETIM helps the industry in their transition from metallic parts or structures to composite materials. General skills and activities focus on technical and economical feasibility studies, support for choosing materials and processes, parts and tooling design and dimensioning, rheological simulation of parts in order to optimize manufacturing processes, the manufacturing of industrial prototypes by various processes like thermoforming, pultrusion, filament winding, RTM, infusion, adhesive bonding, machining
