CITY OF CLERMONT September, 2 2015

The Clermont City Council met inregular session on September 2, 2015at the Larrabee Building Room #4.

Mayor James Mattcalled the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.

Roll Call: Council members Bishop, Wiedenhoff, and Lehmann were present.

Lehmannmoved, Bishopseconded, to approve the agenda. Roll Call: Motion carried3-0.

Harris attended the meeting 7:04.

Wiedenhoffmoved,Lehmannseconded, to approve theAugust 17, 2015minutes. Roll Call: Motion carried 4-0.

Harris moved, Lehmannseconded, to approve the disbursements. Roll Call: Motion carried 4-0.

Bishop moved, Wiedenhoff seconded, to approve the Brick City Bar and Grill liquor permit pending date correction and dram shop. Roll Call: Motion carried 4-0.

Ashby attended the meeting at 7:12.

Wiedenhoff moved, Bishop seconded to approve the Green Door liquor permit. Roll Call: Motion failed 2-3.

Lehmann moved, Harris seconded, to approve the Green Door liquor permit pending the dram shop. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0.

Harris moved. Wiedenhoff seconded, to approve the Jill and Chris Richards building permit. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0.

Harris moved, Bishop seconded, to approve the non-handicap bathroom as there will be a handicap one downstairs when the otherbathrooms are done pending State Historical Society approval and funding. Roll Call: Motion carried 4-1.

Wiedenhoff moved, Harries seconded, to deny the alley vacation request by Dean & Bonnie Johnson and Ralph &Jean Hoeck. Roll Call: Motion Carried 5-0.

Harris moved, Lehmann seconded, to table solar speed signs to the next meeting, September 21. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0.

Bishop moved, Ashby seconded, to trade in the old snow plow and get a new one. Roll Call: 4 Ayes, Lehmann Nay, motion carried 4-1.

Harris moved, Lehmann seconded, to accept the maintenance report. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0.

Harris moved, Bishop seconded, to postpone the priority list and maintenance plans until figures of building construction are in. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0.

Harris moved, Bishop seconded, to accept Postville’s offer of the use of their compost site for one year for $600.00 Roll call: Motion carried 3-2.

Ashby moved, Harris seconded, to have the second reading of the Ordinance 2015-02 water/sewer rates as read. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0.

Citizen Comments: Rosie Nielsen addressed the council about the salvage materials at 708 Larrabee.

Council Comments: Wiedenhoff informed the council that Betty Andres pass away and will be buried in Fayette. She had done much for the fire department. It was decided to send flowers and Wiedenhoff will take care of it.

Mayor Comments: Mayor Matt informed the council on the topic of Dibble Creek erosion. Core of engineers indicated that clean fill could be used to move Dibble Creek back to its channel. At the next meeting a permit from the DNR will be needed. It is different than the one for the Turkey River.
