2017 PANAEWA STAMPEDE RODEO RULES & REGULATIONS

Rodeo will be a Barrel/Flag Roping ~ ONE CONTESTANT PER ENTRY FORM

HHO reserves the right to refuse entrance to anyone for any reason or for no reason!

1. Contestants must be ready to rodeo all 3 days when their name is called or stock will be turned out and a “no time” given.

2. ALL ROPING EVENTS & BARRELS may run in the SLACK ON SATURDAY and/or SUNDAY.

3. If partner is a “no-show” or entry is not received on time, money will not be refunded. Refunds only for substantial cause as

determined by the Club President. All refunds & returned checks are subject to $30.00 fee.

4. DRESS CODE: Cowboy hat & long-sleeved cowboy shirt or official 2017 HHO gear must be worn in the slack & show.

5. ENTRY FORM MUST BE COMPLETED & WAIVER SIGNED. PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN sign for Youth.

6. ONLY contestants/parents/legal guardians can approach Rodeo Officials and Staff with questions/complaints.

7. FULL PAYMENT MUST ACCOMPANY ENTRY FORM!

8. Late entries, received after DEADLINE may not be accepted. If accepted a late fee of $30.00 will be charged.

9. Rough Stock & Novelty: Contestant will be given three passes to help in the chute-ALL must attend meeting.

NOVELTY EVENTS: Open to Adults 18 + years of age. ID to be shown and HHO Waiver signed prior to entering arena. Must appear “Sane & Sober”. ALL Novelty Events are subject to change as announced at the Rodeo.

1. KNOCKERBALL BULLS: Contestants wear Knockerball suit provided by HHO in arena – Rule details provided at Rodeo. Bulls will be loose in arena and encouraged to ‘approach’ participants in all Bull Novelty Events.

2. CHUTE DOGGING: First six to sign up each day. Fast time wins each day.

3. WILD COW RIDING: Three Man Teams to sign up each day. Catch, saddle & ride steer. Fast time wins each day.

4. RANCH MUGGING (No Horses): Three Man Teams to sign up each day. Max 6 teams per day. Fast time wins each day.

ADDED MONEY - ALL Added money will be distributed to all winners unless otherwise stated.

ALL AROUND AWARD – Points will be given to top contestants in each event except those events with age restrictions and Novelty Events. If there is a tie on points, the tie will be broken by the most money won.

~I, the undersigned, understand that Hawaii law (Act 249 1994 Hawaii Legislative Session, effective June 29, 1994) limits the civil liability of persons sponsoring equine (horse, pony, hinny) activities. I understand that there are inherent risks of injury, including death, when participating in an equine activity with horses, which risks include, but are not limited to, (1) the propensity of an equine to behave in ways that may result in injury or death to persons on or around them; (2) the unpredictability of an equine’s reaction to things such as sounds, sudden movements, and unfamiliar objects, persons, or other animals; (3) hazards such as surface and subsurface conditions; (4) collisions with other equines or objects; and (5) the potential negligence of another participant, such as failing to maintain control over the equine, or not acting within the participants ability. Knowing and understanding the risks of participating in an equine activity, including injury and death to my person and damage to my personal property, I expressly choose to assume these risks. Further, on behalf of myself, my heirs, successors, representatives, and assigns, I hereby unconditionally release any and all claims and causes of action against the equine activity sponsor, Hawaii Horse Owners, Inc. and it’s / their officers, directors, representatives, and show personnel, for any injury, including death, and for any damages to my personal property, which I may incur as a result of my participation in this equine activity. If the undersigned is the parent, guardian or representative of any minor participating in this equine activity, the undersigned agrees to indemnify the Hawaii Horse Owners, Inc.(including its / their above-described related persons and entities) from any and all claims and causes of action brought by or on behalf of said minor at any time. I also agree to abide by all rules and regulations set forth by the Hawaii Horse Owners, Inc.

~I THE UNDERSIGNED hereby Release the Hawai’i Tourism Authority, the County of Hawai’i, HHO and its employees, contractors, agents, etc. for all liability and the irrevocable right and permission to use, publish and exhibit any photographs, videotapes, media, etc. that is taken of me at the Panaewa Stampede Rodeo. I Release the above from any claim or any liability in connection with the use of the photo or media taken. ~ ALL Rules are Subject to change by Arena Director who has the FINAL SAY! ~
