We are pleased to inform you that as part of a series of meetings organized by Indian Merchants’ Chamber with leaders of political parties on their visions of holistic and sustainable development of the city of Mumbai, we invite you to a meeting, we have organized on “Development of Maharashtra” with the Executive President of Shiv Sena, Mr. Uddhav Thackeray.

Uddhav Thackeray, referred to as the Pramukh was given this role in 2004, taking over from his father and party founder, Mr. Bal Thackeray.
Earlier, he was looking after Saamna (a daily Marathi newspaper) while being actively involved in election campaign activities. The party won the Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation election in 2002 and, thereafter, he was appointed as the party working president in January 2003. The vision for the Development of Maharashtra from him and from the point of view of his party will form a very useful background in developing comprehensive and encompassing strategies in view of the fast approaching Assembly Elections in Maharashtra.
