JANUARY

Jan. 1

EDWAN RICHARDSON, 19, was shot and was taken to UniversityHospital, where he died. Witnesses told police he was shot in the 1400 block of Vine Street in Over-the-Rhine. Police have made no arrest.

Jan. 14

ROBBY D. PURSLEY, 28, of Blue Ash, was on his way to meet friends after attending a holiday party when he was shot in the parking lot of Mulligan's Hyde Park Pub on Madison Road. He died at UniversityHospital from blood loss. Lonnie Webster, 23, of Avondale, was convicted of murder. He will be sentenced Jan. 11.

Jan. 16

STEPHEN P. NIEMAN, 43, of ColerainTownship, crashed his car at the intersection of Monfort Hills Avenue and Flanigan Court in MountAiry. Police found him inside with a gunshot wound. He died at UniversityHospital. Police have made no arrest.

Jan. 19

TRUSTIN BLUE, 3, of Carthage, was beaten and raped. He died the next day at Cincinnati Children's HospitalMedicalCenter. His mother, Luzmilda Blue, was indicted on a child endangering charge. Blue's boyfriend, Lamont Hunter, 37, was charged with aggravated murder, rape and child endangering. He could face the death penalty.

Jan. 28

LOGAN MATHEWS, 13, of Avondale, was shot and found dead inside a car in the 2600 block of Kipling Avenue in MountAiry. Another victim, Antonio Robinson, 29, of Indianapolis, was found shot at the same intersection, but survived. Police said the two may have shot each other in the vicinity of Colerain and Kipling avenues. Robinson was arrested and convicted of murder. He will be sentenced Jan. 17. (SEE CORRECTION)

FEBRUARY

Feb. 1

JOSHUA MILLER, 25, of Newtown, was shot and taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he died. James Edwards, 29, of Walnut Hills, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and illegally having a gun. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison. According to court records, Miller and an unknown driver pulled up to Edwards in the 2300 block of Kemper Lane in Walnut Hills. Edwards sold Miller phony crack cocaine and then shot him when the driver of Miller's car tried to pull away without paying.

Feb. 5

ABDULLAH WALKER, 18, was shot in the 2900 block of West McMicken Avenue in CliftonHeights. Police say he broke into the home and was robbing people at gunpoint when he began firing. Sean Gray got a gun and shot Walker to death. A grand jury declined to charge Gray.

Feb. 23

BRANDON BARKER, 24, was found shot to death at an apartment in the 900 block of Elberon Avenue in East Price Hill. Rachmon Ali Beamon, 26, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, aggravated robbery and illegally having a gun. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

MARCH

March 1

JASON T. WYNN, 22, of Avondale, was shot to death in the driveway of PhillipMemorialMethodistChurch on Forest Avenue in Avondale. Police have made no arrest.

March 4

RYAN J. CALDWELL, 31, was shot to death in Vito's night club on Reading Road in Roselawn. Three other people were shot but survived. Police have made no arrest.

March 5

JOSHUA DYKES, 18, of MountAuburn, was shot during a fight at Sudsy Malone's Rock and Roll Laundry, on Vine Street in Corryville. He died at UniversityHospital. Police have made no arrest.

March 6

MELVIN REEVES JR., 27, of Silverton, was found shot to death in the 7800 block of New Bedford Avenue in Roselawn. Police have made no arrest.

March 10

LAKEISHA STREETY, 28, was found dead in her Walnut Hills apartment on Stanton Avenue. Police have made no arrest. March 17

STEVEN LANKFORD, 22, was found shot to death in the 600 block of North Fred Shuttlesworth Circle in Avondale. Lorenzo Miller, 20, was arrested and has a hearing Jan. 12.

March 21

SIMON HARRIS, 16, was found shot to death at the intersection of Lincoln and Park avenues in Walnut Hills.

March 22

DWAYNE HARRIS, 35, was stabbed at Redwood Carryout on Woodford Road in a scuffle with Edward Spencer, another customer. Harris died at UniversityHospital. Spencer, 39, of KennedyHeights, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

March 23

NANCY B. BELEW, 53, was found dead inside her College Hill apartment in the 5900 block of Hamilton Avenue. Her television was taken. Police have made no arrest.

March 27

JANIE M. MATHEWS, 45, of Walnut Hills, and RODNEY TURNBOW, 20, of MountAiry, were shot by a masked man inside Mathews' apartment on Wayne Street during an attempted robbery. Both died at UniversityHospital. Another man, 19, was shot in the hallway but survived. Police have made no arrest.

March 28

ANTONIO UNDERWOOD, 33, of MountAuburn, was shot to death in the parking lot of a Fifth Third Bank at Victory Parkway and East McMillan Street in Walnut Hills. Larry Edwards, 23, of Evanston, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault. He was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

APRIL

April 3

LANA D. BROWN, 31, of Sharonville, was shot in the chest in her car at the corner of 14th and Vine streets in Over-the-Rhine. She drove a few blocks down Vine Street, then collapsed behind the wheel and hit an oncoming car. She died at UniversityHospital. Police say Brown was trying to buy drugs. Toxicology tests found marijuana and cocaine in her system. Police have made no arrest.

RONALD PERKINS, 45, of Over-the-Rhine, was shot to death in his apartment in the 400 block of Wade Street. Jason Miller, 22, of ColerainTownship, was charged with murder. Prosecutors say Miller went to Perkins' apartment to collect a debt and shot him during an argument.

April 5

MATTHEW COX, 20, of Florence, was shot to death in his car in the 1400 block of Race Street in Over-the-Rhine. Police said Cox's teenage passenger was making a drug deal when the shooter came up to the driver's side and shot him in the head. Toxicology reports found cocaine and opiates in his system. Delrico C. Robertson, 29, was arrested in Detroit and charged with murder.

April 9

BYRON ROBINSON, 20, of Walnut Hills, was shot in the 1400 block of Vine Street in Over-the-Rhine. He died at UniversityHospital. Antonio Bishop, 21, of Over-the-Rhine, was charged with murder.

April 14

TODD BAKEMEIER, 41, was shot by his father in their Westwood home in the 2900 block of Dunaway Avenue. Irwin Bakemeier, 70, called 911 to report his son was dead and he was going to kill himself. Police found both bodies inside the home.

April 15

KABAKA OBA, 48, was shot outside CincinnatiCity Hall while the City Council was in session. Oba was the self-proclaimed "general" of an activist group called the Black Fist. Howard Beatty, 52, surrendered to police hours later. Prosecutors say the two were involved in a long-running feud and Oba provoked Beatty's planned slaying. Beatty was sentenced to 13 years in prison for voluntary manslaughter.

April 24

CHRIS CHALLIS, 40, a paraplegic, was shot in the stomach in the 1600 block of Blue Rock Road, near Boswell's Alley, a Northside bar and restaurant. He died two weeks later at the hospital. Police said he might have been caught in the crossfire of a shootout between passengers in two cars. Police have made no arrest.

April 25

ANGELA GRAYSON, 48, was waiting at the bus stop near Forest and Alaska avenues in Avondale when a person in a car shot her in the chest. She died at UniversityHospital. Bryant Keese, 19, pleaded guilty to reckless homicide, felonious assault and illegally having a gun. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison.

April 26

TIMOTHY STANLEY, 14, of North Fairmount, was shot to death in the 2300 block of Millvale Court in Millvale. Police have made no arrest.

MAY

May 2

STEFAN MAPP, 23, and DONTE MITCHELL, 20, died from gunshot wounds during a robbery in the 200 block of Findlay Street in Over-the-Rhine. Police say Mitchell and Darrell Byrd, 18, were trying to rob Mapp and Craig Jones. Jones took Mitchell's gun and killed him. The prosecutor's office called the shooting justified. Byrd was charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery for Mapp's death.

May 3

PHILANT JOHNSON, 26, of Union City, Ga., was one of four people caught in the gunfire between rapper T.I.'s entourage van and two SUVs. T.I. performed at Bogarts in Corryville and then went to the Club Ritz for an after-hours party, where a dispute ensued. The rapper's entourage left the club in a van and exchanged gunfire with the two SUVs on Interstate 75 at the Seymour Avenue exit. Johnson died at UniversityHospital. Three other people in the van were wounded but survived. Police have made no arrest.

May 4

CASONYA "SHAREE" CRAWFORD, 14, of Avondale, was found dead on Blair Avenue. Her burned body was found five days after her grandmother reported her missing. She attended HoffmanSchool, where she played basketball, and would have attended HughesCenter's health program next fall. Her family said she wanted to be a doctor. Police have made no arrest.

May 12

DAVID PRESLEY, 17, of Silverton, was found shot to death near train tracks in the 3700 block of Dunloe Avenue in KennedyHeights. Kevin Pryor, 17, was convicted of murder and sentenced to 23 years to life.

May 13

ADRIAN BATTLE, 40, of Westwood, was shot to death by a customer as he worked as a bouncer at First Note Cafe in Walnut Hills. He had worked there about eight years. Police have made no arrest.

May 14

CARL RIGGINS, 24, was shot to death in his fifth-floor apartment on Victory Parkway in Walnut Hills. Riggins' girlfriend said it happened during a robbery. Michael Smith, 23, Antonio McBride, 20, and Michael Hubbard, 23, were charged with aggravated murder.

May 20

BILLY WASHINGTON, 38, of North College Hill, was shot to death in a house in the 1500 block of Yarmouth Avenue in Bond Hill. Police say he was involved in an altercation with his girlfriend's father, James Hocker. Hocker, 54, of Westwood, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

JUNE

June 8

DELANO R. MARET, 60, of North Fairmount, was found shot to death near the door of his home in the 1800 block of Vinton Street. Police said two teens went up to the known drug house and one of them shot Maret. Tyrone Murphy, 17, was arrested and charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery.

DION PETERSON, 34, of South Fairmount, was shot to death during an attempted car-jacking. Police say three men shot him several times before trying to take his car at Bank Street and Colerain Avenue in the West End. He was found dead on the street near his T-top orange-and-white Camaro with flashy rims. Police have made no arrest.

June 15

MARY JO NEWTON, 45, was found in a vacant building in the 700 block of Wehrman Avenue in Avondale. Her body was burned beyond recognition - the bones in the lower half of her body were gone, as well as her face. The Hamilton County Coroner's Office relied on dental records to identify Newton. Police have made no arrest.

June 23

FREDDIE GENTRY, 20, was found shot to death in the 1200 block of Republic Street in Over-the-Rhine. Police found crack cocaine near his body. Ebony N. Ragland, 20, of Avondale, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter. She was sentenced to 13 years in prison.

DWAYNE STUCKEY, 21, was shot in the 1400 block of Vine Street in Over-the-Rhine. He died at UniversityHospital. Another man, whose name was not released, was also shot but survived. Police have made no arrest.

June 26

PHILIP MCCLURE, 29, was shot to death during a home-invasion robbery in the 3400 block of McHenry Avenue in Westwood. Police believe the shooting was drug-related and said McClure had crack cocaine in his pocket. Jewell J. Gray, 25, of Westwood, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter. He was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

JULY

July 1

JEFFREY D. JONES, 35, of Wilmington, was found dead after he crashed his van into a building on Back Street in Over-the-Rhine. He suffered from a gunshot wound. Police said it was drug-related. Donshea Williams, 21, was indicted with murder.

July 5

CHRISTOPHER TRUE, 24, was shot to death outside of a service station/convenience store in the 2000 block of East Seymour Avenue in Bond Hill. The shooting was captured on a surveillance tape and police said he was shot at point-blank range. Police have made no arrest.

July 13

SEAN L. SEGAR, 31, of North Fairmount, was shot to death inside a car in the 1800 block of Baltimore Avenue. Matthew Murphy, 16, was arrested and charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery.

July 18

DEANGELO A. ALFORD, 20, was shot in the head in the parking lot of NewSt. JohnBaptistChurch in Avondale. He died at UniversityHospital. Rastefa Fowler, 18, of Walnut Hills, and Jovonne King, 19, of Over-the-Rhine, took a bus to Pennsylvania, where they barricaded themselves in a house that Fowler lived in about a year ago, when a preacher took him in. They gave themselves up after a 6½-hour standoff. They were indicted on charges of aggravated murder, murder, aggravated robbery and kidnapping.

July 19

BRANDON MORRIS, 25, of Norwood, was shot to death near Stanley's Pub in Columbia Tusculum after he tried to thwart a robbery. Police said he was walking two women to their car when a man stole one of the women's purses. Morris ran after him and was found dead in the front yard of a nearby home. Edward Longmire, 18, of Evanston, was indicted on aggravated murder and three charges of aggravated robbery. Police said the shooting happened during Longmire's 10-day robbery spree. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

LORA DAVIS, 37, and GREG HAWORTH, 51, were found shot to death inside their apartment in the 500 block of Lowell Avenue in Clifton. Police have made no arrest.

July 20

AZIZUDDIN SANDERS, 28, was shot in the 3000 block of Walter Avenue in Westwood. He died at UniversityHospital. Another woman was shot but survived. Immanuel Dubose, 23, was arrested and charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery.

July 25

NICHOLAS ROBINSON, 17, died in a shootout at a gas station on West Mitchell Avenue in North Avondale. Police say Robinson was trying to rob Herman Overbee, but Overbee grabbed Robinson's gun and shot him. Overbee has not been charged. Police are preparing to bring the case to the prosecutor for review.

AUGUST

Aug. 6

KALA WHITFIELD, 15, was shot in the head inside an apartment on Westmont Lane in West Price Hill. Marcus Wynn, 18, who her family says was her boyfriend, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four years in prison. Kala would have been a 10th-grader at WithrowUniversityHigh School in Hyde Park.

Aug. 12

MILTON BAKER, 7, died at UniversityHospital after, police say, he was severely beaten by his mother's boyfriend. Fred Johnson, 35, of West End, allegedly smashed his skull and fractured his ribs. Johnson was indicted on seven charges, including aggravated murder, felonious assault and endangering children. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. Milton's mother, Latina Stallworth, 24, was also charged with child endangering.

Aug. 13

MARKUS A. HARRIS, 33, was found shot to death in the 1600 block of Anita Place in Bond Hill. Police have made no arrest.

Aug. 17

KENNETH CUNNINGHAM, 55, was shot to death after walking in on a burglary at his house on Henrianne Court in East Westwood. He was having lunch with his friends when he received a call from his neighbor that his dog was running loose. He returned home to a broken glass patio door and was shot. Police have made no arrest.

Aug. 20

PATRICK OAKES, 47, of Mason, was shot and then crashed his pickup into the side of a beverage carryout in the 5000 block of Paddock Road in Bond Hill. Police said he was there to buy drugs. He died at UniversityHospital. Police have made no arrest.

Aug. 27

PHILIP BATES, 55, was shot on the front porch of his North Avondale home in the 3900 block of Rose Hill Lane. He died at UniversityHospital. He was returning home from a memorial for murder victim when the shooting happened. He was the husband of Cincinnati School Board member Melanie Bates. Charles Carter, 20, was arrested and charged with aggravated murder, murder and aggravated robbery in Bates' death. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

SEPTEMBER

Sept. 4

SAM BROWN III, 30, of Bond Hill, was found shot in the 3500 block of Haven Street in Avondale. He died at UniversityHospital. Police have made no arrest.

Sept. 13

JOSEPH KREHYE, 18, was shot during a gunbattle in the 3000 block of Robertson Avenue in Oakley. Police said a white van pulled up to a drug house when the gunfight started. Krehye was shot and ran a short distance to Appleton Street, where police found him. He died at UniversityHospital. A passerby in a car followed the white van to a convenience store, where police found another teenager shot inside the van. The juvenile survived. Three other people were in the van. Police have made no arrest in connection with the killing.

Sept. 16

MONIQUE MORALES, 25, of Winton Hills, was shot in the 4800 block of Winneste Avenue in Winton Hills. Police said she was in the car with Thomas Briscoe Jr., 34, when he shot her and then drove her to Good Samaritan Hospital's emergency room. She was transferred to UniversityHospital, where she died. Briscoe surrendered the next day and was charged with felonious assault and reckless homicide. He has a court hearing Friday.
