PART 1 GENERAL

1.1  SECTION INCLUDES

A.  Provide a 600 TVL true day/night, indoor and outdoor, vandal-resistant, fixed, color dome IR camera with Vari-focal Auto Iris DC lens system for video surveillance, including design, supply, installation, and commissioning.

1.4  SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

A.  The true day/night rugged, fixed, color dome IR camera shall use a vandal-resistant enclosure that is IP66 rated for outdoor installations but can also be installed indoors, mounted directly to a ceiling or wall.

B.  The camera shall have a 1/3” interline transfer CCD imager for 600 TV lines super high resolution. 20 integrated LEDs and a built-in, 3.8 – 9.5 mm Vari-focal Auto Iris DC lens with a mechanical IR cut filter that automatically switches to provide day/night operation. The camera accepts 12 V DC/24 V AC power input.

1.5  SUBMITTALS

A.  General: Submittals shall be made in accordance with the Conditions of the Contract and Submittal Procedures Section.

B.  Manufacturer’s Product Data: Submit manufacturer’s data sheets indicating systems and components proposed for use, including instruction manuals.

C.  Shop Drawings: Submit complete shop drawings including connection diagrams for interfacing equipment, list of connected equipment, and locations for major equipment components.

D.  Record Drawings: During construction maintain record drawings indicating location of equipment and wiring. Submit an electronic version of record drawings not later than Substantial Completion of the project.

E.  Operation and Maintenance Data: Submit manufacturer’s operation and maintenance data, customized to the system installed. Include system and operator manuals.

F.  Field Tests: Submit results of field testing of every device including date, testing personnel, retesting date if applicable, and confirmation that every device passed field testing.

G.  Maintenance Service Agreement: Submit a sample copy of the manufacturer’s maintenance service agreement, including cost and services for a one year period for Owner’s review. Maintenance shall include, but not be limited to, labor and materials to repair the system, provide test and adjustments, and regular inspections.

1.6  QUALITY ASSURANCE

A.  Manufacturer: Minimum ten years experience in manufacturing and maintaining video management systems. Manufacturer shall provide toll-free technical assistance and support available 24/7.

B.  Manufacturing Location: Provide equipment assembled in China.

C.  Installer: Minimum two years experience installing similar systems, and acceptable to the manufacturer of the video surveillance system.

D.  Regulatory Requirements:

1.  Emissions: FCC, Part 15B, Class A

E.  Environmental Conditions: Camera shall be designed to function in the following environmental conditions:

1.  Operating Temperature: 14°F to 122°F (-10°C to 50°C)

1.7  DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

A.  Deliver materials in manufacturer’s labeled packages. Store and handle in accordance with manufacturer’s requirements, in a facility with environmental conditions within recommended limits.

1.8  WARRANTY

A.  Manufacturer’s Warranty: Submit manufacturer’s standard three-year warranty from the manufacturer’s date code under normal use and service for the video surveillance system.

PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.1  MANUFACTURER

B.  The rugged dome camera shall incorporate auto white balance to constantly monitor the light and adjust the color as needed. User-selectable white balance options: Auto Tracking White Balance (ATW), Manual, Push.

C.  The rugged dome camera shall provide user-selectable digital noise reduction options: Low, Middle, High, Off.

D.  The rugged dome camera shall provide user-selectable super back light compensation options: Low, Middle, High, Off.

E.  The rugged dome camera shall provide ICR (AGC Type) day/night function.

F.  The rugged dome camera shall provide an electronic shutter and selectable automatic gain control (AGC) for operation in a wide range of lighting conditions.

G.  The rugged dome camera shall provide true day/night functionality with 20 integrated, 850 nm LEDs and a mechanical IR cut filter within the camera that switches from color to black/white.

H.  The rugged dome camera shall provide fully configurable motion detection settings and four motion detection areas.

I.  The rugged dome camera shall provide privacy zone and mirror function.

J.  The rugged dome camera shall use smart infrared technology that allows auto LED brightness adjustment to evenly distribute the IR and prevent excessive illumination.

K.  The rugged dome camera shall have a 3-D axis (pan/tilt/rotation) gimbal for precise camera positioning.

L.  The vandal dome camera shall have a lens boot that optically isolates the lens from the LEDs to eliminate internal IR glare.

M. The rugged dome camera shall provide 12 V DC or 24 V AC operation.

N.  The rugged dome camera shall have a built-in breather vent to stop humidity buildup.

O.  The rugged dome camera shall have a single piece design that integrates the camera and lens into one unit for easy installation. The physical camera options, including housing and dome, shall have the following major capabilities:

1.  Housing: The rugged dome camera shall be available in a die cast aluminum housing and polycarbonate dome, with a light gray powder coating finish.

2.  Installation methods: The rugged dome camera shall come ready to be surface mounted to a wall or ceiling.

3.  3-D axis gimbal (pan/tilt/rotation) for mechanical camera positioning and adjustment.

4.  Connectors: The rugged dome camera shall come standard with a two-conductor pigtail that connects to the barrel connector and a 2.1 mm plug power input for video adjustment and focus.

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1  EXAMINATION

A.  Examine site conditions prior to installation. Notify Architect and Owner in writing if unsuitable conditions are encountered. Do not start installation until site conditions are acceptable.

3.2  INSTALLATION

A.  All components of the camera shall be thoroughly tested before shipping from the manufacturer’s facility.

B.  The camera shall be installed, programmed and tested in accordance with manufacturer’s installation instructions.

1.  Coordinate interfaces with Owner’s representative where appropriate.

2.  Provide cable, and wire for a complete and reliable installation. Obtain Owner’s approval for exact location of the camera and all conduit, and wiring runs prior to installation.

3.  Install conduit, cable, and wire parallel and square with building lines, including raised floors areas. Do not exceed 40 percent fill in conduits. Gather wires and tie to create an orderly installation.

4.  Coordinate with other trades to provide proper sequencing of installation.

3.3  FIELD COMMISSIONING AND CERTIFICATION

A.  Field Commissioning: Test camera system as recommended by manufacturer, including the following:

1.  Conduct complete inspection and testing of equipment, including verification of operation with connected equipment.

2.  Test devices and demonstrate operational features for Owner’s representative and authorities having jurisdiction as applicable.

3.  Correct deficiencies until satisfactory results are obtained.

4.  Submit written copies of test results.

3.4  TRAINING

A.  Conduct on-site system administrator and security/surveillance operator training, with the number of sessions and length of sessions as recommended by the video surveillance system manufacturer. Training shall include, but not be limited to, administration, provisioning, configuration, operation and diagnostics.
