Directions for Using the Copy Center
Please be sure that you have signed up on Signup Genius for your time slot in the Copy Center. If you are helping your child's teacher with something for your child's class, please sign up for a Copy Volunteer time slot in Signup Genius. If you are a Grade Level Copy Support Volunteer, please sign up for a Grade Level Copy Support time slot.
Please be sure that you adhere to designated volunteer copy times are as follows:
PTA: 7:40-8:25 2nd: 10:10-10:55 4th: 12:35-1:20
K: 8:30-9:45 TAG: 11:00-11:40 5th: 1:25-2:10
1st: 9:20-10:05 3rd: 11:45-12:30 PTA: 2:15-2:35
When Completing Grade Level Copy Support:
You may not be able to complete the entire assignment during your 45 minute timeframe, especially if a copier is not working. Simply do your best to work your way through the assignment.
Please make sure to use appropriate teacher codes whenever possible. Teacher codes are written on the outside of your assignment folder.
Please make sure to use the gestetner when indicated.
Distribute completed copies among the individual teacher folders in your grade level's copy support bin. Completed originals should be placed in the folder labelled "Completed Originals." Incomplete portions should be placed back in the "Assignment" folder.
There is bound to be a time that you experience a problem with one of the copiers. Please handle these situations in the following way:
The copier is out of paper...There is more 8 1/2 by 11 paper on the shelves in the corner of the copy room. Please restock paper into the appropriate tray as necessary.
Paper jam...Please only attempt to fix a paper jam if you know that you can fix it simply and easily. Please do not try to fix a paper jam if you do not know how to do it. In this case, please get Michelle from the Media Center to come help you. Pattie at the front desk can help too. (Hint: you can call Pattie at the front desk by pushing the button near the light switch. It will save you a trip:)
Copier Down...Please put the sign "Copier Down...Michelle has been notified" on the copier, then immediately contact Michelle in the Media Center. If you come into the copy center and a copier is down, please do not assume that Michelle knows about it. Many times this is not the case.
