Clinical Liaison
Administrative Professional Staff Position
Summary
This position coordinates activities between clinical agencies/community partners and the administrative roundtable groups. Responsibilities include serving as the liaison between the School of Nursing, clinical agencies, and other institutions, and coordinating and executing the placement of students in relation to the clinical experiences required by the school. This position will also serve as the point of contact for the School of Nursing in for academic scheduling.
Duties
Performs a combination of the following duties:
1. Interacts with the administrators and directors of nursing in health care agencies to establish and maintain rapport and to communicate the needs of nursing students in the agency.
2. Presents a plan for clinical experiences to each clinical agency for each student placement.
3. Interacts with directors and deans of schools of nursing in the San Antonio metropolitan area to negotiate areas and places for student nurse placements.
4. Coordinates the placement of students for course coordinators by working with agency personnel to establish student placement contracts, maintaining and renewing existing agency contracts, and establishing letters of agreement with agencies.
5. Interacts with faculty and clinical personnel to facilitate communications between agencies and the school through periodic roundtable discussions.
6. Completes comprehensive reports of activities and attends conferences of a related nature.
7. Coordinates scheduling of courses within the School of Nursing.
8. Maintains selected data bases on clinical placements, preceptor contracts, and service activities performed by students and faculty for the School of Nursing.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervision
Reports to the Associate Deans for the Undergraduate and Graduate Programs.
Educational Experience
BSN and masters degree required. MSN preferred. Two years of professional clinical experience required. Current Texas RN license.

Skill in using Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel. Effective Communicator.
