The Venue, which opened as an event facility in late 2015 after a meticulous renovation, was originally built in 1870 and is located in the heart of historic downtown Janesville. This Second Empire-style building was built as the Court Street Methodist Church and is on both the State and National Historic Registers of Historic Places. Careful attention has been given to restore the elaborate woodwork in the space and the result is a unique and intimate setting for a variety of events. This captivating space features balcony seating, original stained glass, hardwood floors and a built in bar area.
The Venue is within the Town Square of downtown Janesville. It is adjacent to the
Parking plaza, a structure built over the Rock River in 1964 and 1965. It was featured in the May 1965 Wisconsin APWA Chapter Spring conference held in cooperation with the Iowa, Illinois and Minnesota Chapters. The plaza is scheduled for demolition later in 2016.
