HOW TO REGISTER YOUR HOLT TEXTBOOK ONLINE?
1. In the URL Address bar, type my.hrw.com
2. On the log-in screen you will see
“I’m a New User and need to register for a program”
Click on the register link
3. On the next page look for

Click on the arrow and select “TEACHER IN A U.S. SCHOOL”
Then click REGISTER.
4. On the next screen, fill-in the following fields and click “I AGREE”

5. On the next screen, titled “SCHOOL AND ISBN/KEY CODE REGISTRATION, select your school by clicking on the arrow in the rectangle box.
6. Using your TEACHER’S EDITION of your Holt Textbook, turn the book over and look on the bottom right of the back of your textbook and locate the ISBN number. Type the ISBN number in the empty rectangle box
7. Click on NEXT

8. On the next page, follow the instructions on the screen. You will be required to have your TEACHER’S EDITION to turn to the page specified on the screen then click NEXT
9. The next page will show your completed registration. You may print this page for your records

HOW TO INPUT A CLASS ROSTER USING HOLT ONLINE?
1. Go to my.hrw.com
2. Type in your user name and password and log-in
3. On the right side of the page look for the blue column titled “LEARNING MANAGEMENT CENTER.
4. Under this column, click on “ADD A CLASS”
5. Fill-in the following fields on the next page

PERIOD
GRADE LEVEL
DESCRIPTION
SELECT THE TEXTBOOK USED FOR THIS CLASS
6. Click on “ADD”
7. On the next page, look for “NUMBER OF STUDENTS” box, click the arrow and select the number of students enrolled in your class
8. Under the class name, begin typing in your student’s names. Do not worry about capitalizations; everything will be given in lowercase
9. When you are done click “ADD”
10. Click on “PRINTABLE VERSION”, so you can keep a copy of your student’s usernames and passwords for your records. Usernames and passwords CANNOT be changed.
11. For SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS and/or Regular Classroom Teachers, on the right side of the page click on “EDIT A STUDENT RECORD”
12. Click on the arrow and “SELECT A CLASS”
13. Next to “STUDENT”, click on the arrow and select the student you which to edit their information
14. On the next page, begin selecting specific student’s information (gender, race, IEP, etc.)
15. Enter the necessary fields for the student and then click “UPDATE” when done
16. If you need to edit additional students, continue to do so, by following the same procedures.
HOW TO ACCESS HOLT ONLINE LESSON TUTORIAL VIDEOS?
1. In the URL Address bar, type my.hrw.com
2. Type in your USERNAME and PASSWORD
3. Select your text book and click on “GO TO THE ONLINE TEXTBOOK” link
4. On the top left side of the page under the tool bar, you will see “SELECT A CHAPTER”, click on the arrow and select the chapter you want to open
5. In the rectangle next to the select a chapter box, titled “CHAPTER OPENER” click on the arrow and select the section you want to open
6. Then click on the red “GO” next to the box located at the right
7. On the right side of the page you will see a gray box with several blue links, look for the section titled “LESSON TUTORIAL VIDEOS”
8. In sequential order, begin with “EXAMPLE 1”
9. A new window will open and the lesson tutorial video will begin to play. Watch the entire lesson and once it stop, close the window and then watch the next video.
10. Continue until you have completed all of the lesson tutorial videos.
HOW TO ACCESS TEACHER RESOURCES?
1. When you log-in to Holt, select the textbook you want and click on “GO TO ONLINE TEXTBOOK”
2. On the top left side of the page under the tool bar, you will see “SELECT A CHAPTER”, click on the arrow and select the chapter you want to open
3. In the rectangle next to the select a chapter box, titled “CHAPTER OPENER” click on the arrow and select the section you want to open
4. Then click on the red “GO” next to the box located at the right
5. On the top of the page click on the red tab titled “TEACHER RESOURCES”
6. You will see two columns and a series of resources to select.
7. The column titled “LESSON RESOURCES” provides the following resources for teachers

8. For each section in a chapter, these resources are available. You may pick and chose based upon the needs of your students
HOW TO ACCESS ADDITIONAL TUTORIAL RESOURCES?
1. Once you have finished watching the lesson tutorial videos, now its time to practice the concepts you have learned.
2. On the top of the page click on the red tab titled “ADDITIONAL PRACTICE”
3. You will see a series of resources to select.
4. Select the resource that best suits you
5. One resource that is very helpful and provides feedback is “HOMEWORK HELP ONLINE” located on the left side of the page under “INTERNET RESOURCES”
6. Click on HOMEWORK HELP ONLINE and a new window will open.
7. Select the section you wish to begin practicing questions
8. If you click on the “PRACTICE” pencil, a new window will open and a series of questions will be asked providing feedback to assist with the correct response.
9. If you click on the “VIDEO” monitor, the lesson tutorial video will open to re-teach the lesson for that section in the chapter
10. If you click on the “SOLUTION” light bulb, a new window will open and provide step-by-step instruction on how to solve the problem.

These skills will assist with ways to differentiate in the classroom environment. We can differentiate by content, by process, by product and/or by climate.
An example of differentiating by Content is by subject area (math) with the implementation of Scope and Sequence.
Scope and Sequence is used to provide teachers with a pacing guide to create standard-based lessons to outline what topics should be covered and when.
An example of differentiating by Process is the use of SchoolNet.
SchoolNet assist teachers with analyzing data, organizing curriculum, tracking instruction, measuring performance and reporting results. Also, using SchoolNet allows teachers to make instructional decisions to provide intervention based upon the needs of their students.
An example of differentiating by Product is the use of Math Resources such as Holt, Geogebra, Greene County, SchoolNet, and/or Ohio Department of Education (ODE).
The use of math resources assist teachers with creating detailed lessons, implementing individual/group activities and/or providing intervention based upon individual student needs.
An example of differentiating by Climate is the use of Flexible Groups.
Using flexible groups allows teachers to create cooperative, standard-based learning environments. This design promotes and utilizes student’s strengths and weaknesses so learning occurs in a friendly, stress-free environment.

1. Select a topic from the standards and benchmarks above. Use Holt and gather resources that apply to your topic. Be sure to state the chapter and section from the Holt Textbook. Then choose a Lesson Plan, Practice sheet, Activity and any other additional resources you wish to add. The purpose of this is so we are able to create a lesson plan next session using the resources you gathered.
2. Bring a print out of your class roster with your student’s user names and passwords
