Levels with multiple evaluation sessions, (Squirt and Bantams) will be reassigned times for day 2 of the process. Players in those sessions will be ranked after the second session on day 1. The lower ranked players will be matched together and the higher ranked players will be matched together. The lower ranked players will be evaluated first on the 2nd day, allowing for players to be reshuffled to the higher ranked session if they excel.

Waiver and Acceleration Requests:

We have received 5 girls waiver form to date. There will be movement in the girls program to facilitate the girls’ teams. Waivers are not really necessary in the girls program. Once we have a better handle on the girls numbers, then we can settle on final player placement.

We have received 3 Boys Mites-Squirt waivers. We will accept these requests at this time, but have to wait for final numbers to formally wave the players. The players will be asked to participate in the Association Fall Camps, but will not participate in the evaluations, because their placement will automatically be to the lowest level provided, (Squirt C).

15U and Junior Gold: Steve Lemke and Ben Griffin held a player parent meeting for a girls’ 15U team. After the meeting and received feedback, we have 10 skaters and 2 goalies committed to a 15UA hockey team. President Henry Blattner was notified the response, and made declaration of the team to District 5. Details of the team will be work out, and Steve Lemke has been named the teams; Head Coach.

The Boys High School Head Coach will hold a player/parent meeting on Oct. 24th, at which time he will bring the idea of the Junior Gold Team. If there is enough interest for this team, we will work with District 5 and our sounding associations to facilitate a Junior Gold team. This team would be formed after the high school try-outs, and would consist of players of high school age that are not in that program. The mission of Youth Hockey is to provide playing opportunities for kids. If there are kids wanting to play, we should be exploring the opportunities.

Association Coaches Clinics: We held are first coaches’ clinic of the year. Mitch Sweep and Kevin Mooney gave season planning and organization ideas for coaches in attendance. The material and packet will be available on the web-site under the coaches’ corner. We encourage all coaches to attend these clinics. The board has agreed to cover coaches’ registration expenses for participating in the events.
