10. Project Summary
In 150 to 200 words, provide a short summary of the proposed project. The summary should be written in clear, simple language, so that all members of a multi-disciplinary committee can readily understand the project’s general concepts and goals.
11. Detailed Project Description – Applicant to write, in conjunction with supervisor.
a)  In 500 to 1000 words, outline the major elements of the project clearly and concisely. Be sure to include the following elements:
·  Objectives of the study;
·  Methodology (be as specific as possible);
·  Analysis and interpretation;
·  Relevance of study to SPHERU’S research program(s);
·  Originality of proposed research; and
·  Applicant’s role in project design, direction of work, and analysis and interpretation of results.
b)  Using an additional page(s), include a complete list of references cited; provide full citations.
c)  No additional materials (e.g., reprints, appendices, other manuscripts) are permitted and will be removed before review.
12. Ethics Approval for the Project
If the project is part of the supervisor’s ongoing program, already approved by the ethics review committee at the host institution, please provide a copy of the current approval certificate. If the project is significantly different from the supervisor’s ongoing program and/or has not been approved by the ethics committee, it must be submitted for ethical clearance. Contact the research office at the host university for guidance in this regard.
