Site Manager
Kimbriki Environmental Enterprises Pty Ltd is an innovative landfill and recycling centre on Sydney’s northern beaches. The Kimbriki site receives over 330,000 tonnes of waste annually, with close to 80% currently being recycled into products such as compost, mulch, sand, road-base and gravels. Kimbriki is owned by Northern Beaches Council (96%) and Mosman Council (4%) and works with its community, customers, shareholders, employees, partners and the waste industry to deliver and promote innovative and efficient services that reduce waste to landfill and increase beneficial reuse opportunities. Kimbriki aims to be a centre of excellence for services associated with the management of waste.
The Site Manager of the Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre is responsible for the day to day management of the site, ensuring the site operates efficiently and is staffed and equipped sufficiently to be able to provide a high level of customer service. Kimbriki operates 7 days per week, 10 hours per day, 363days per year. They will also manage the procurement, works and associated monitoring and reporting of the various contractors required to carry out Kimbriki’s day to day activities and diversecapital works program.
This role will be supported and guided by Kimbriki’s existing Compliance, Engineering and Asset Management divisions and there is the opportunity for professional development through these interactions and a well-developed and supported performance management system.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in management of sites involving civil or other engineering works with multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and effectively manage staff, delegate tasks effectively, monitor progress and review operations to achieve optimum productivity.
- Demonstrated experience in the tracking and reporting of works projects.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and initiative, including ability to initiate and respond effectively to change.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Understanding of continuous learning principles, equal employment opportunities, work health safety, ethical practice principles and the ability to act with probity at all times.
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and function effectively in a statutory/regulative environment.

- A current driver’s licence.
Desirable Criteria
- Ten + years experience in management of projects or complex sites with multiple contractors
- Experience in managing civil engineering projects, particularly complex construction/drainage/process engineering works
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Experience managing waste management related projects e.g. landfill cell construction, development of waste receival and material recovery / recycling facilities, stormwater drainage works, leachate drainage pipelines
