Job Title: Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanic – Level III

Position Summary:
Performs maintenance on commercial trucks, trailers, and equipment in a safe, efficient, quality minded and customer focused manner. Performs maintenance and repairs on equipment to manufacturer's guidelines to maintain the safety and reliability of the equipment.

·  Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.

·  Be able to effectively work in a team environment.

·  Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

·  Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background and criminal checks).

Level III Technician - Essential Functions:

·  Oil changes

·  Lubricate moving parts

·  Shop clean up

·  Wash Bay ~ clean trucks and trailers

·  Assist Other Technicians

·  Brake repairs

·  Replace external engine components

·  Beginning knowledge to install internal engine components

·  Minor truck repairs

·  Ability to do annual DOT inspections

·  Electrical repairs

·  Air system repairs

·  Limited knowledge to install external engine components

·  Transmission/Wheel seal replacement

·  Operate hydraulic presses, cutting torches, welders, saws and grinders

·  Replace clutches

·  Trailer repair

·  Troubleshoot ABS systems

·  Run overhead

·  Other repairs as needed

Education/Experience: 2+ years' hands-on diesel maintenance and repair experience. Certified on at least one major brand (Peterbilt, CAT, Cummins, Eaton, Allison, etc.)
Physical Requirements:

·  Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, and crawl

·  Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs.

·  Ability to lift /carry up to 100 lbs

·  Ability to grasp tools

·  Ability to discern color

·  Repetitive motion: wrenches

·  Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the work day;

·  Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc.) often;

·  Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements often.

Environmental Conditions:

·  The noise level in the work environment is ranges from quiet to loud.

·  Normal setting for this job is: repair/maintenance shop.
