GIRO: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
GIRO is a convenient, cashless mode of payment. To help you better understand the GIRO payment method, the following are some answers to the most frequently asked questions:
Q1: How do I get started?
Complete the parts marked with Ö in the GIRO application form, sign and pass it to us.
Q2: How long do I need to wait before my GIRO arrangement is effective?
Usually it takes between 7 to 21 working days. We will send you a notification email once your GIRO application is approved. And you shall find the statement “amount to be deducted from your account on dd/mm/yyyy” appears on your bill.
Q3: Can I arrange for another party to effect the GIRO arrangement through his/her bank account or pay for another party?
Yes, you can by stating his/her name and address, and the iTalkBB customer account number on the GIRO form. The only thing you need to make sure is: the signature of bank account must be the same as the bank’s record for that bank account’s holder.
Q4: When will the GIRO deduction be made?
A deduction will only be made from your bank account on the 3rd working day from the date we email you the bill. The amount deducted will be reflected in your bank statement and monthly bills.
Q5: What happens if there are insufficient funds in my bank account?
We will send you an email to inform you the failed deduction. You should put in more funds into your bank account as soon as possible because we’ll be doing another deduction attempt in the next 5 days. Please remember to maintain sufficient funds in your bank account for the subsequent bills. We will terminate your GIRO if we are unable to make GIRO deductions after 5 failed attempts. Please note that some banks do charge a service fee for unsuccessful GIRO deduction due to insufficient funds.
Q7: Can I stop GIRO payment?
Yes, you can by sending iTalkBB a GIRO termination notice form. This form is available on our website. But you will need to give us up to 30 working days to process your request. During this processing time, please continue to maintain sufficient fund in your account and pay through GIRO.
