The Leverett T. Smith Memorial Awardis named after our former Headmaster. Mr. Leverett T. Smith was Headmaster from 1938 to 1963. This award is given each year to the student who has shown initiative and perseverance in the pursuit of some special interest during the school year. For her participation in competitive fencing:

The Wells Speech Award was given to the School by Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Wells in 1973. This prize is awarded to the winner of the speech contest. This year, middle school winner of the Annual Speech Contestwas:

The Matthew Preston ’65 Recitation Prize was named after Matthew Preston who attended Harvey for 3 years. While at Harvey, Matthew participated on the soccer, basketball, and baseball teams. In 2001, The Matthew Preston Recitation Prize was re-named after beloved faculty member Michael A. Lopes who taught English at Harvey from 1983 to 2000. This year, The Matthew Preston Recitation Prize is given to the Middle School winner of the Michael A. Lopes Annual Poetry Contest:

The BaothWiborg Memorial PrizeThe BaothWiborg Memorial Prize, in honor of BaothWiborg ’34, is presented each year for excellence inLatin: This prize is named after BaothWiborg, a former student at Harvey who unexpectedly died in 1934. Baoth was an outstanding Latin scholar. This year’s prize for excellence in Latin goes to:
