Bid Summary:
This contract was bid to Contractors who were pre-approved in both herbaceous species control and survey. The bids were taken for lump sum cost for survey and a cost per acre for treatment type for the following work: delimit the epicenters of purple loosestrife, Phragmites, and reed canary grass previously detected; survey the entire North Branch of the AuSable River that are not under federal ownership for additional epicenters of the same three invasive species; implement treatment measures for control of purple loosestrife, Phragmites, and reed canary grass.
The project was bid at www.bid4michigan.com. The solicitation was issued on May 25, 2011, a mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on June 2, 2011 and bids were due June 9, 2011.
Three bids were received from prequalified contractors, and all three bidders attended the required pre-bid meeting on June 2, 2011. Bids were received from: Wildlife and Wetlands Solutions; Wildtype Design, Native Plants & Seed LTD, and; Huron Pines. The bids are summarized below.
Huron Pines was the low bid and the review team agreed that the company could perform the work and complete it within the timeframe specified in the project work statement. The recommendation is to award the project to Huron Pines.
