Dear River City parents and Players-

As we gear up for what’s sure to be a great spring season, we are thrilled to announce the restructured and reorganized improvements to our River City girls program!

In the past we have struggled to have a consistent girl’s program director that can implement and carry out a development path for our Rec and Select programs. Continual turn over at this position has led to inconsistent programing and some unorganized seasons. For that we do apologize.

River City Directors took the late fall and winter season to consult and search for the best solution available. In doing so, have entered a partnership with an established, well organized and girls focused lacrosse organization.

New for 2015 - River City has partnered with Players 360 Lacrosse to improve upon and provide more opportunities for girl’s youth lacrosse in the Tri-Cities. While River City recreational leagues and select team names will remain the same, they will now be a sister program to Players 360. Rec teams will participate in the independent league this spring providing games and tournament play. Our select teams will compete in a competitive high level independent league play as well as local and mid-west tournaments.

This structural change will immediately improve the organization and blue-print for growth of girl’s lacrosse in our community. This overhaul will be led by the New River City Girls Program Director Ronni Kluener.

Ronni Kluener will take over as Girls Lacrosse Program Director for River City. She has been the Marketing & Program director at Players Indoor in Naperville since 2011. Prior to that she was an Assistant Coach at the Nationally ranked Lindenwood University, upon returning to the Naperville area in 2011 she took over the role of Head Coach at Neuqua Valley, winning 2 conference championships and 2 sectional championships in 3 years and producing 6 total All State recognized players. In 2014 Ronni began an initiative to develop youth lacrosse in Naperville. As of December 2014 the Players Rec and Select teams have doubled in size as well as wins per season. For the 2015 season Ronni will be fully immersed with girl’s lacrosse in the Tri-Cities and looking to duplicate that success. Focusing on the growth of a strong youth base to feed and power the high schools in our community, Ronni will also be on staff with the St. Charles Varsity Girls team.

As RCL Girls Director, Ronni brings with her a host of experienced coaching personnel for our recreational and select teams - including current NCAA coaches and players as well as experienced varsity level players. We look forward to posting these bios as we confirm their roles and positions.
