RULES AND REGULATIONS

Class based on highest book average unless current high average is 10 pins or more as of Jan. 1, 2013

HANDICAP & AVERAGE

1. Individual handicaps shall be 100% of the difference between the bowler’s average and 220.

2. Entrants must use their highest 2011-12BOOK average in any league (including traveling leagues), unless current high average is 10 pins or more as of Jan. 1, 2013, for 12 games or more. If no average as of this date, entrants must use their highest average, for 12 games or more, as of the time they bowl, or last year’s book average. All others bowl scratch (220).

3. All averages must be verified by the Youth Program Director or traveling league Secretary and copy of league standings sheet must be sent with entry as of Jan. 1, 2013.

4.Any falsification of average will result in disqualification of the bowler, and all prizes and entry fees will be forfeited.

ENTRIES

OPEN to all St. Louis USBC Youth members ONLY. Card must be issued min. 30 days prior to reserved closing date.

1. No reserved entries will be scheduled without payment in full by closing date of January 12, 2013.

2. Entry fees will not be refunded after entry closing date.

3. All entries will be scheduled according to date received by the Tournament Director.

No date or time changes can be made after January 12, 2013, unless done so at the Tournament Director’s discretion. Additional squads may be added, or deleted, if needed, at the Tournament Director’s discretion.

4. Bowlers may compete more than once in Doubles provided they change partners.

No limit on re-entries in Singles.

Bowlers may compete more than once in Team event, but no more than 2 bowlers may bowl together more than once. All team entries must contain 4 names to be valid.

5. Doubles & Team entries may consist of any combination of boys and girls.

6. All-Events entry is optional and must be paid at time of entry. A bowler must bowl in all 3 events (T/D/S) to be eligible to compete in all-events prize. A/E class is based on the bowler’s singles class.

A bowler’s first score in eachevent will count towards All-Events.

7. Should any class have less than 5 entries, the Tournament Director has the authority to move the entrants to another class.

8. All bowlers must show theircurrentUSBC membership card at check-in. Duplicate cards can be printed from

Entry confirmations will only be sent if you do not receive your first squad choice or if you are moved

to another class (under rule 7 above).

CHECK-IN, LATE ARRIVALS & BLINDS

1. Check-in deadline for each squad is 45 minutes prior to squad starting time.

2. Substitutes must be presented to the Tournament Director with written and signed verification of the averages. If available, the Coach can make substitutions; if not, the Tournament Director will. Substitutions made by Tournament Director will be final.

3. Tardy bowlers will start to bowl in the frame in progress at the time of their arrival. No pins are awarded for missed frames.

4. Blind scores are permitted. Rule 322b. One blind may be used for team ONLY, and score will be 10 pins less than their average. You MAY NOT send an entry with a name missing and then use Blind score.

TIES

1. In case of ties, duplicate awards will be given.

DRESS & CONDUCT CODES

1. Dress Code: No hats, tank tops or frayed blue jeans. No clothes with text or designs depicting alcohol, drug or tobacco products or obscene images.

2. No eating, or drinking in the bowlers’ settee during bowling by scorekeepers or bowlers.

3.No smoking by bowlers during tournament play. Adult spectators are allowed to smoke in designated areas. The USBC Code of Conduct will be observed.

4. Any bowler using abusive language or unsportsmanlike conduct may be removed by a tournament official.

5. Conduct rules apply to spectators, also.

6. Only youth bowlers, scorekeepers, and tournament officials are permitted in the bowlers’ area.

7. Coaching is permitted, but not in the bowlers area.

8. No flash cameras.

9. Bowlers MAY NOT: Usecell phones, personal music devices, hand-held games or any other item deemed distracting during bowling; play any forms of gambling, including card playing.

PROTESTS

1. All rules not covered here will be covered by USBC tournament rules. All protests shall be handled by the Tournament Director. The decision of the Tournament Director shall be final unless an appeal is filed within 72 hours in accordance with USBC Rules.

SCHOLARSHIPS

1. $50Scholarships awarded to each All-Events winner and$25 to each 1st place winner per event/class. SSNs may be required for scholarship winners to deposit the money in the SMART account.

A $30 service charge will be assessed on all

returned checks.

AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR HIGH EVENT SERIES, WITH HANDICAP, IN EACH CLASS ON A RATIO OF AT LEAST 1-FOR-10. ALL-EVENTS AWARD PRESENTED TO 1ST PLACE, ONLY, IN EACH CLASS.

ON-THE-SPOT AWARDS WILL BE PRESENTED FOR 50 PINS OVER AVERAGE IN A SINGLE GAME (LIMIT OF ONE “50-OVER” PER BOWLER PER TOURNAMENT.
