Quick Facts for Students

The Department of Information Technology Resources (ITR), a department in the Office of the Vice President for Information Technology, provides centralized computing, telecommunication, media and related services to the College community. Supplementing centralized ITR facilities and services are extensive departmental and divisional resources some of which are available to all students (e.g. computers in the Library) and others that meet the specialized needs of students in particular programs.

Information Technology Center

Plaza Level, Carman Hall

ITR manages the Information Technology Center. The IT Center, open to all students, houses a large open lab(referred to as the Open Center) and classrooms with fully networked Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh systems, printing and scanning facilities. The ITR Help Desk is located in the Open Center. Students also have access to computers in the Library, the Student Center and in specialized departmental labs throughout the College. You will need to show your CUNYCard photo id to enter the Center. (Your CUNYCard number is printed along the bottom, left edge of the card.)

ITR also manages the new Multimedia Center located in the basement of Carman Hall. This facility includes studios, classrooms and high-end video and audio editing equipment.

All Lehman students receive an email address seven days prior to the start of their first semester at the College. Most student email addresses look like:

If necessary, you can look up your email address on eSIMS through the CUNY Portal (see next item) or you can check at the ITR Help Desk.

Services available through the CUNY Portal include:

  • Blackboard for online courses
  • eSIMS for registering for courses, obtaining grades, making payments
  • The CUNY Libraries online
  • ePermit
  • CUNY Alert
  • CUNY eMall for free software downloads (e.g. Symantec AntiVirus, Maple), discounts on software (e.g. Microsoft Office), computers and other items.

Your Lehman LDAP username and password

Your Lehman LDAP username (which is the same as the first part of your email address: firstname.lastname) and its associated password provides access to several services including:

  • The campus-wide wireless network
  • Lehman Library online materials from off campus

The format of your Lehman LDAP password is the same as your initial email password.
