Thepurpose of thismanual is thereforetoinformapersonhowtoobtainaccesstoarecord held by theMunicipalityandtherebygivingeffecttoSection 14 of theAct.

Thetimelimitforprocessinganapplicationforaccesstoarecord is 30 (thirty) workingdays. Anapplicanthastherighttolodgeawrittencomplaintaboutanydelays in receivinga response withtheMunicipalManagerwhowillattendtothecomplaintwithin5 (five) workingdays.
Ifarequestforaccess is madeforinformationthattheMunicipalitydoesnotpossessoranotherpublicbodyholdstheinformation, therequesterwillaccordinglybenotifiedwithin14 (fourteen) workingdays.
