1. Purpose of Internship
The primary goal of the internship is to provide a work experience within an international organisation for individuals with an academic background in peace and conflict or another related field.
2. The Life & Peace Institute (LPI)
The work of LPI is carried out mainly through the engagement with and support of civil society organisations and academic institutions. LPI builds strategic partnerships with local, national, regional and international organisations and networks in order to support processes and platforms conducive to nonviolent conflict transformation and peacebuilding.
The main focus of LPI’s programmes has been on Africa. LPI’s Horn of Africa Programme was established in the late 1980s. LPI is currently engaged in Somalia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, Kenya and Ethiopia, as well as in a Horn of Africa Regional Programme. In policy engagement and research LPI is collaborating with platforms and academic institutions in Africa, Europe and the U.S,.
