Motion 1: That ARCC recommend to the Arts and Science Executive the addition of STEC 3997, Practicum I.

Motion 2: That ARCC recommend to the Arts and Science Executive the addition of STEC 4997, Practicum II.

Rationale: Please see (C) below.

PRACTICUM I

If this course belongs to a major that has course groupings, please indicate which group the course belongs with: / BSc in Science and Technology programs, all streams.
Course Prerequisites: / Completion of at least 24Credits in a stream. As departmental approval is required prior to registration, all students required or wishing to take this course during the following spring/summer or fall/winter session must apply to the department no later than 15 February.

(please indicate if this course is approved for either cross-listing or cross-coding, and to which discipline)

B) Comparative Data. Because of the nature of the course, it is impossible to provide a comparative data.

C) Statement of Need. All streams of the proposed BSc in Science and Technology program requires 6 credits of Practicum/ Coop. We have practicum courses in Computer Science, which require completion of 36 credits of Computer Science courses. However different streams of the proposed program may not allow students to take 36 credits of Computer Science courses. Therefore we need to create new practicum courses to meet the requirements of different streams.

D) Statement of Resources. No new resources are needed, except the cost in the case of the supervision by faculty.
