Exploration Update;
Supreme Resources Ltd. (TSX Venture: SPR) is pleased to provide an update on exploration at its TAS (Copper) Project, located in the Copper Mountain Mining Camp, in the Similkameen Mining Division of southwest British Columbia. Supreme has one claim (1306 hectares) under option, situated immediately south and east of the property of Copper Mountain Mining Corp. (TSX.CUM) and five staked claims to the south of the optioned ground. The optioned claim has two Minfile showings (92H5 SE 192 and 193) explored in the past with geochemical and geophysical anomalies and copper mineralization known.
The Titan 24 Deep Earth Imaging Survey recently completed by Quantec Geoscience between May 18 and May 27, 2009 (see news release dated June 30, 2009), detected a geophysical signature on the optioned claim interpreted by Quantec as similar to that beneath Pit 3 of the adjoining Copper Mountain Mining Corp. property to the northeast. Three high–priority porphyry exploration targets have been identified on the TAS property. The final Quantec Report is pending.
Supreme has applied for the necessary permits to commence a Phase 1 diamond drill program on these 3 targets in the second half of September 2009. Supreme expects these permits to be received by mid–September. The directors of Supreme Resources believe that these targets are prospective for the discovery porphyry style mineralization on the claims. This potential cannot be quantified and can only be verified by the exploration program planned.
President and CEO Allan Levien pointed to the resurgence of copper prices from their lows last December, and to Mitsubishi Materials Corp.’s acquisition of a 25% stake in Copper Mountain Mining Corp. “These developments make our TAS Project well-positioned to increase value for our shareholders”.
Supreme Resources Ltd. is a public, junior gold and base metal exploration company with two properties in southwest British Columbia: the TAS Project, and the Ample–Goldmax (Gold) Property located in the Lillooet Mining District. The 100%–owned Ample–Goldmax Property is host to several known mineralized zones with gold grades ranging from trace to more than 2.0 ounces per tonne (66.34g/t) Au in quartz veins. Prior drilling results on the property by Homestake Mining included an 8.2 meter intersection grading 11.76g/t Au. Supreme’s 2008 drill intercepts included 11.39g/t Au across 0.13m and 5.91g/t Au across 8.53m. Visible gold was observed in several drill holes (see news release dated September 15, 2008, September 25th 2008 and February 9 2009) further exploration is planned at Ample-Goldmax for 2010.
