PUBLIC HEARINGSuperintendent Ubben presented the proposed 2015/2016 budget. The budget
FY16 BUDGETwas presented with a 0% Allowable Growth. The tax rate would be set at $18.12, which is $.11higher than the current tax rate of $18.01. There were no public comments by any resident or taxpayer to present objections to, or arguments in favor of, any part of the proposed fiscal year 2016 budget.

TEACHER RECRUITMENTEddie Diaz, Carla Wood, and Brandon Weeks shared information about the Teacher Recruitment Team and recent recruitment efforts.
DIR TEACHING &Kevin Vidergar reviewed information from last January’s Department of Education Site visit.
LEARNINGThe Site Visit team shared strengths and recommendations for improvement.
COMMENDATIONSIBCA Basketball Class 4A Region 7 students are Claire Marburger & Maggie Lowe.
Claire Marburger was named IBCA Class 4A “Miss Basketball”.
IGCA Basketball Class 4A All-State students are Claire Marburger – 1st Team and Maggie Lowe – 3rd Team.
INA Basketball Class 3A All-State student is Shammond Ivory – 2nd Team.
Des Moines Register Basketball Class 3A All-State student is Shammond Ivory – 3rd Team.
IBCA Basketball Class 3A All-Substate 7 students are Shammond Ivory and Will Whiton.
RRC Basketball Academic All-Conference (3.25 GPA/Higher, Letter winner Grades 10-12) students are Claire Marburger, Maggie Lowe, Amy Marckres, Grace Marburger, Erica Tenold, Mariah Duffy, Victoria Hegstrom, Haileigh Kenyon, Emma Olejniczak, Zach Roberts, Will Whiton, Nic Wilhelmi, Alex Long, Sean Riley, and Mary Wilhelmi.
RRC Wrestling Academic All-Conference (3.25 GPA/Higher, Letter winner Grades 10-12) students are Fernando Catalan, Tanner Darr, Troy Jahnke, Htwar Reh, Kade VanKirk, Gage Welch, Tyler Soll, Cindy Mejia, and Alison Tobar.
Governor Terry Branstad and Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds honored Iowa’s Outstanding Teachers on Tuesday, March 10th, at the Iowa Historical Museum. Five Iowa Teachers received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics.Perry Elementary Teacher, Janna Bjork, was among those honored by the Governor.
Students receiving “1” in State Speech are Ana Rosa Funez, Christian Loaiza, Sarah Sweet, Gabi Huntington, Alicia Calderon, Bayley McInerney, Christian Loaiza, Kat Leesley, and Lauren Benjamin.
Students receiving “2” in State Speech are Sierra Coleman, Maggie Lamphier Meir, Rebecca Dobson, andAbbi Weir.
Terry Isley, Breanna Penenger, and Christian Loaiza received I ratings (superior) for their performance at the IHSMA State Solo & Ensemble Festival. Christian received a perfect score and Best of Center. He will perform his solo at a recital for Outstanding Performers held at Iowa State University in May.
Perry Elementary has received the 2014 PBIS Honor School Award. This award recognizes the Perry Elementary for their great effort, enthusiasm and commitment that has brought them to this level of successful School-wide PBIS implementation.
To receive this recognition schools must show evidence that criteria was met. Specific criteria includes having a representative, school based leadership team that engages in the consistent use of data to self-assess implementation and to provide the most effective supports for the educational environment, staff and students. Honor schools provide evidence that behavioral expectations are taught and acknowledged, and that a continuum of consequences for inappropriate behaviors is consistently applied. A recognition ceremony will take place April 23rd .
SUPERINTENDENT REPORTSuperintendent Ubben reviewed recent legislative proposals/bills pertaining to PK-12 education.

To approve the Cooperative Food Purchasing Agreement with the Iowa Association for Educational Purchasing for 2015/2016.

To approve the Master Contract Agreement for 2015/2016 with the Perry Education Association with a $790 increase on the Regular Salary Schedule base and step movement at a cost of $401,607.00, which is a 4.00% total package increase.
