V. Chartering: Sailing Club
A. Tobin and Jeff Mooney presented
B. Can be recreational and competitive. An outside sponsor has agreed to teach, lend boats and offer his marina space – it was his desire to start this club. Will start out with smaller #s learning the basics then adding more people who can be trained by other students
C. Floor Open for Discussion
D. UMHB Sailing Club is the official name
E. How do you join this club? – Jasper
F. As soon as they work with the sponsor, Dan Brown, and decide a time, they will let people know.
G. How will they facilitate a large number of people – Shaina
H. There will be set aside times in the week, and hopefully will get to the point where you can check out boats without the sponsor.
I. What’s the plan for the rest of this semester? – George
J. Waiting on Insurance and communication from the sponsor, who want to wait on weather
K. Kristy – the club will offer different levels of membership that will decide how often members can sail and who the need to sail with. This semester - mostly working on finalizing insurance and getting more boats. Currently have 5 boats, and more have been ordered. So some sailing can begin this spring.

e. If a class officer wants to be the director do they get to vote on themselves? - Shaina
