Description:
The symposium will present relevant topics in Laboratory Animal Medicine with an emphasis on the ACLAM primary species and recent literature. Registration for the workshop is required.
The slide collection established by the team at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS)will be available for review in the NCSU-CVM library. This collection includes biology and diseases of many laboratory animal species. Also available will be many of the Foundation’s video collection accumulated by NCSU. Computers and VCRs will be available. The library will be open extended hours the May 15th -18th.
The Laboratory Animal Medicine Mock Exam on Saturday, May 17th is open to all interested individuals and does not require registration to the symposium. See page 7 of this announcement if you only plan to attend the Mock Exam and not the symposium.
Target Audience:
The course is appropriate for veterinarians specializing in laboratory animal medicine, especially those preparing for ACLAM board certification

Special Instructions:
1.All attendees should have a government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, military ID, etc.).
2.The NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine is a short 5 minute walk from the adjacent hotel (Ramada Inn). The VeterinaryCollege is a series of attached buildings. Enter the College at the south end of the main building with the long brick walkway. This will be the entry farthest from the Ramada Inn. Entry from the SmallAnimalHospital is not allowed. The South Theatre is down the stairs and through the double doors.
3.Parking for the workshop will be available at the NCSU-CVM in the large lot across from the south end entrance. Parking permits will be issued on the first day of the meeting at the reception desk upon entering the CVM.
Hotel Accommodations:
A block of 20 rooms have been reserved at the Ramada Inn, 1520 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC, (919) 832-4100under The C.L Davis Foundation. The special room rate is $85.00 + tax. The deadline for this rate is April 23, 2008. The hotel website ( was not active as of 12/12/07.
