Meeting Minutes- September 19, 2013
Welcome SLT members to the 2013-2014 school year! State of the School
- Grades K-5 have been assessing students. Teachers will use this data to instruct students at their individual level including enrichment and interventions for success. MAPS testing (Measurement of Academic Progress) is being used for grades K-5, Reading 3-D is individual testing for grades K-3. All of the information and data will be shared with parents at conference time.
- WP enrollment is over 65 kids than projected for this school year. This means we will get additional positions.
- Curriculum Night was held at all grade levels.
- Safety measures will be evident in all schools. CMS is upgrading to - keyless entries, buzzer will be installed and security cameras in and outside the building. Identification badges have been made for all students. All id’s needed to be worn at all times.
- Wolfpack Dads will meet the last Friday of every month.

School Improvement Plan-
CMS has set some Smart Goals for schools to follow. These include:
Duty Free lunch period for all teachers
Provide duty free instruction time of at least 5 hours per week
Positive School environment- no harassing behavior – Bully free school
Team members broke into small groups to brainstorm suggestions forstrategies, processes and outcomes to meet our goals.

What is the number of students projected to leave WP for Palisade’s school?
CMS has projected 450 students leaving. You can take a look at the school boundarieson the CMS website
Scott McCully will talk to SLT in the future about the new school.
