2008 SHOW RULES AND REGULATIONS:

AGS RULES: AGS rules shall govern. An original AGS registration certificate is required for all animals to be shown in sanctioned classes unless the animal is less than six months of age. In that case a stamped duplicate will be accepted. The Grand Champions and Reserve Grand Champions will be measured and their heights recorded, and their tattoos will be checked and recorded. All animals must be measured at or below the maximum height limits (22.5” does, 23.5” bucks) with an official measuring stick as they enter the show ring for their class.

SHOWS: Three separately sanctioned shows each will be held for senior does, junior does and bucks. These shows are sanctioned by the American Goat Society, and its rules shall govern. The sponsor is Has It All Farm and Jim McGonagle. These shows are sanctioned by AGS for registered Nigerian Dwarf does and bucks only. The base dates for computing animals’ ages are August 15th through August 17th, 2008.

ENTRY FEES: Senior and Junior Does are $8.00 each per show, while Bucks are $5.00 each per show and Champion Challenge classes are $2.00 per animal per show. Make check payable to Jim McGonagle and send to Jim McGonagle at the above address.

DISCOUNTS: Send Entry Form and Entry Fees by the Postmark date of August 9, 2008 and get a 20% discount on all Entry Fees.

SUBSTITUTIONS: Substitutions may be made within the show only. Exhibitors wishing to substitute animals must do so at least 1 hour before the start of the show. Substitutions made before August 9 are free of charge. There will be a $5.00 charge for each substitution made after that date, either by e-mail, phone, letter, or on show day.

SCRATCHES: It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to inform the show secretary of all scratches before the class enters the ring. All scratches are final. Example: If your junior doe wins grand champion and you want to scratch her from the age class in the rest of the shows and enter her in junior champion challenge, please advise the show secretary when signing the official report.

CHECK-IN: Has It All Farm will Saturday morning and will remain open until Sunday night. All exhibitors must check in with the show secretary 1 hour prior to the show. The original registration certificate is required for animals over 6 months of age; applications stamped “received” by the AGS office are acceptable for animals under 6 months old. Proof of animal’s ownership is the name on the registration certificate or on the stamped duplicate.

PENS: This is a “Trailer Show,” but there will be “some” pens available on a first come first serve basis. There is plenty of space for portable pens, and lots of tie space. Bring your own feed. Hay and bedding will be avaiable at the show. Those exhibitors using free space MUST LEAVE THEIR AREA IN THE SAME CONDITION AS THEY FOUND IT. This includes the area around trailers.

MILKOUT: There will be no pre-show milkout, but it is highly recommended that exhibitors empty their milkers’ udders either by milking or allowing kids to nurse no earlier than 8:00 pm on Friday and Saturday. Please do not over bag your does.

HEALTH RULES: Out of state exhibitors must have interstate health papers for 2008. No tests are required; just a veterinarian’s statement that the herd is healthy and free of communicable diseases. New Hampshire herds need 2008 Health Certificates. Any animals appearing in poor health or displaying open abscesses or obvious signs of soremouth or pinkeye may not be shown. The show committee shall have the authority to request the removal of such an animal.

PROGRAMS: One Programs per Farm is included for free. Additional programs are available at $2.00 each. Please enter amount needed on entry form and include amount due with check.

FOOD: More Information Coming Soon…

PAYPAL PAYMENTS: Paypal payments are accepted, please send payment , but you will still need to mail or email your entry form to the show secretary.

AWARDS: Show Raffle tickets will be given for the first 3 placings in each class. (1st – 3, 2nd – 2, 3rd – 1) These raffle tickets are then used in Sunday’s lunch time raffle for prizes.

BEST UDDER: A New Tradition – The Best Udder Trophy will be given out in addition to the AGS Rosettes.

FAN FAVORITE: A FAN FAVORITE Trophy has been given out for the past two years. Make sure to vote for your favorite! The trophy will be given out Sunday after the shows.

SHOW ATTIRE: The Spirit of these shows has been somewhat unique throughout the years. It is this free, fun-loving spirit that allows the normal “dress whites” to be replaced with the optional 60’s attire. Of course you may wear what you want but “Summer of Love” clothing is in fact encouraged. So dust off the tie-dies and dress as your favorite “love child.”

BEST HIPPY: Dress as your favorite “Love Child” and you could win the coveted “Best Hippy Trophy”

KIDS TROPHY(S): Kids compete in events like Simon Says and other outdoor activities and win trophies. This is a favorite of both the adults and kids at each year’s show.

SPONSOR A CLASS: It costs a lot to put on a Nigerian Dwarf show. We’d really appreciate it if you would be willing to sponsor a class, even if you don’t plan on showing. We’ll print your name in the program above the class you sponsored as well as post it on the show website. A regular class is $20.00; Grand Champion is $50.00, or any amount you’d like to donate. See the website for sponsoring information http://www.hasitall.com/summeroflove/sponsor.html (Free Full Page Ad with Class Sponsorship)

ADVERTISING: For only $10.00, you can place a full page insert Ad into the show program folder. Deadline for RECEIPT of ads is August 9th

SHOW STORE: There still is an overwhelming positive response to the shows’ logo, drawn by James Malia. Check out the online store for your favorite Hippy Goat Item - http://www.cafepress.com/summeroflove

MISC: There will be a $30.00 charge for checks not honored by the exhibitor’s bank.

Showers in Jim’s home will be allowed to exhibitors, but on a sign-up/reserved time slot basis.

Indoor space is available for “camping” as well as two private bedrooms (please inquire).
