Job Description
Job Title: Network Support Analyst
Department: MIS
Reports To: Computer Information Systems Coordinator
General Description. Provides support to the MIS team and end users on a variety issues.
Essential Job Functions include the following, other activities may be assigned:
- Installing and expanding computer hardware and software, network application, and telecommunications in existing and new locations
- Optimizing and maintaining network software and hardware
- Performing network infrastructure troubleshooting
- Assisting end-users with network or application issues
Job Duties must perform the following duties in order to achieve essential job functions, other duties may be assigned:
Provides support to end users in the selection, procurement, usage, and maintenance of software programs and hardware.
Installs and maintains wide area network hardware and software (including servers, peripherals, network nodes, terminals, and wiring) and coordinates installation of hardware and software by others.
Monitors and maintains network stability.
Communicates and coordinates network schedule and downtime to users.
Assist in support, setup, and maintenance of Point of Sale system.
Coordinates third-party maintenance for network hardware, software, and telecommunications services.
Develops procedures and instructions for equipment configuration and maintenance.
Prepares and maintains documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts.
Be able to travel as required.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should haveknowledge of Database software; Inventory software; and Order processing systems software.Be experienced with local area and wide area networks and end-user support. Have a basic understanding of common networking concepts (IP, VPN, NETBIOS, DNS, DHCP, etc.). Have general PC maintenance knowledge. Be efficient with Windows 2000, Windows XP, Microsoft Office, and AIX. Have a working knowledge of Windows 2003 Active Directory domains. Be familiar with Microsoft Terminal Services.
