My thesis in few words:
In my thesis I present a machine learning method inspired by the human immune system called Artificial Immune System (AIS) which is a new emerging method that still needs more investigations and demonstrations. I apply core modifications on the standard AIS with the aid of the Genetic Algorithm (GA). I also apply Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for spam detection with a new manner. SpamAssassin corpus is used in all our simulations. In standard AIS several user defined parameters are used such as culling of old lymphocytes. In Genetic Optimized AIS we present culling time instead of user defined value. Also, we introduce a new idea to check antibodies in AIS. This would make the system able to accept types of messages that were previously considered as spam. The idea is accomplished by introducing a new issue which we call rebuild time. Moreover, we use an adaptive weight of lymphocytes to modify selection opportunities for different gene fragments. In my work, I also apply core modifications on ANN in the input layers; these modifications allow input layers to be changed over time and to replace useless layers. This method eventually gave us promising results. We call this approach Continuous Learning Approach Artificial Neural Network CLA_ANN.

I supervised his Ph.D. Dissertation. He is ranked among the top 1% students we had. His communication skills are very good. He is very sociable with lovely personality. He has clear thinking and rational way in judging matters. Dr. Adel Hamdan can lead a group of students or researchers to finish a research or project effectively. His relation with his colleagues and students is excellent, he is committed to his work and any assignment he is given. I have no doubt that Dr. Adel Hamdan can do very well in any assignment or job that can be given to him. He is an excellent programmer in various programming languages. He can teach several classes. He has worked for years as Director in Ministry of Education. He is a keen researcher and can initiate research topics out of nothing. He is interested in software artificial intelligence and taught many classes in that field. If you hear the comments of the students Dr. Adel Hamdan taught you will definitely would like to have him in your staff. I strongly recommend him for any post graduate studies and /or teaching assignment at any university in the world. He is a winning deal …trust me.

Subject: Reference letter for Dr. Adel Hamdan
Dear Sir/Madam:
It is an honor to me to fulfill Dr. Adel Hamdan’s request to write him a recommendation letter.
I have known Dr. Adel Hamdan during the time I was running the faculty of Information Technology since July 2011. Dr. Hamdan was a key player in the faculty of IT and this was clear to all other faculty members. His contributions to various fields including, but not limited to graduation project and Field Training were very valuable. This of course was beside his excellent teaching skills and respect to all three parties: students, colleague and superiors.
As a Dean of the faculty, I have noticed that Dr. Hamdan was among the few faculty members who would like to keep himself always up to date with respect to the recent technologies. Thus, I consider him an active faculty member who is always working on updating his knowledge, research activities and teaching experience.
I am sure that Dr. Hamdan will always be a key player in whichever team he wishes to join. If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me at the address below.
Sincerely,
Dr. Nael Hirzallah
