Thank you for registering for the Majors Division in Pacific Little League. We are busy preparing for the upcoming season and wanted to take a minute to answer some commonly asked questions we receive.

How are Majors teams formed? Per Little League rules, all Majors teams are formed through a draft overseen by the league’s Player Agent. ‘Property players’ are players that played last season in Majors. Property players return to the same team and are not subject to the draft. All other eligible players are added via the draft until rosters for all Majors teams are full. You can find all of the details here on the Baseball Overview page of our website. All players not selected in the Majors draft will be placed in Minors for the season.

Does my player need to tryout? Property players do not need to attend player tryouts as they are returned to the same team. Per Little League rules all other eligible players who wish to enter the Majors draft must attend tryouts.

Majors tryouts are scheduled for Saturday, 2/25, 8am – 4pm @ Edmonds Woodway HS.

There is also a make-up Majors tryout on Monday, 2/27, 6:00pm @ Lynndale.

More information and tryout times will be distributed as we get closer to the tryout dates.

How are managers selected for the Majors Division? All Majors managers are approved by the PLL Board of Directors each season. An advisory committee interviews all Majors manager candidates and makes their recommendations to the League President. The League President will then make their recommendations to the PLL Board of Directors for approval consideration.

Will the Majors Division have nine teams again this season? Last season the large number of eligible players registered required the Majors Division to expand to nine teams. One of the factors considered in expansion last season was the increased number of registrations in the lower divisions that would create a sustained need for nine teams for the foreseeable future. Registration closes on February 15th and based on current registrations it is almost certain we will have nine teams again this season.

Can I play in PLL if I live outside the league boundary? You can learn more about our league boundaries here on the PLL website. Little League rules require that PLL players reside in or go to school within:

·  West of Highway 99 (Aurora)

·  South of 148th St.

·  North of 205th St.

If your player does not reside in or attend school within the PLL boundary they are not eligible to play in PLL and would be required to register in the Little League in which they reside or attend school.

We do our best to identify registered players who are outside our boundary but we need your help. Please double check and ensure that your player is eligible to play in Pacific Little League and notify our Player Agent immediately if your player does not meet these eligibility requirements. You can easily search your address here on the ‘Find A League’ page of the Little League website.

Players that do not meet these eligibility requirements are not eligible to play in post season tournaments/all-stars unless they have a Residency Waiver Request approved by the Little League International Charter Committee prior to the start of the regular season.

Who can I contact with more questions? Feel free to contact David Cretin, PLL Player Agent (), with any questions.
