CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION UPDATE: /
  1. Master Schedule designed for optimal use of time for instructional opportunity.
  2. Daily Schedules have been submitted to assure optimum use of instructional time and to support our response to PED instructional Audit Findings.
  3. Professional Development provided by Instructional Coaches once per week alternating math and reading. Teachers have requested additional support through modeled lessons in their classrooms by the instructional coaches.
  4. PLC – Teachers are meeting to identify student needs and responding through small group, individual, and intervention structures.
  5. Dibels has been conducted as a benchmark assessment.
  6. We are anticipating the DRA2 Assessment training and implementation
  7. Classroom management plans (individualized by teacher/students/class) are in place. School wide plan is being revised to better support staff and students. Teachers have identified their needs for the school wide plan.

  • Sept. 3rd great turnout for the Open House (pizza and child care was provided)
  • 7:45-8:15 Hundred Mile Club grant (Mrs. Dow & Ms. Herr)–Daily
  • Hundred Mile Walk-a-Thon fundraiser – first week of October during PE
  • Positive Behavior Challenge – Pillars of Character & Golden Tickets
  • Pre-K Field Trip –Oct 18 to the Zoo
  • Kinder Field Trip – Sept 20th & 27 to Smith’s
  • Kinder Field Trip – Oct 11th to Zoo
  • 2nd Grade – Great Reading Challenge in October
  • Sevilleta Field trip – 3rd grade ( Cancelled due to floods)
  • Parkview StarParty/Harvest Festival – Nov 6
  • Book it! Contest – Intervention teachers (end of Sept and on-going)
  • Bully Prevention Month – October Events to be scheduled school wide
  • Hispanic Heritage Month: September 15-October 15

PARENT INVOLVEMENT: /
  • Attached is the Parent Advisory meeting Agenda held on Sept 17th.
  • Monthly meetings are scheduled.
  • Letter from the committee went out to the entire school population
  • Parent Advisory Committee is assisting the Principal in developing a staff recognition program. The committee is looking at recognizing staff members for actions, deeds, and words which promote excellence, caring, and the “little warrior” Spirit. In conjunction with the Committee the Principal is developing a recognition/appreciation action plan for staff and students.
  • Reader’s Raise the Rooftrain-the-trainers workshop sessions Sept 23 and 30th. Two teachers (Mrs. Moff and Mr. Hunter) and two parents (Mr. Hoffman and Mrs. O’Campo) will be attending. This is to provide Parent workshops promoting early literacy.

CELEBRATIONS: /
  • Excellent start to the new school year. I judge our success by the smiles on the children’s faces.
  • Career Fair was a great success
  • The Warrior Football team stopped by on their way to their “away” game. The children loved them!
  • Please visit the Parkview Website as events are being posted and letters from the PAC and Principal are there. We are making a stong effort to use this venue to assist with community communication.

Our Socorro police force have been exemplary is assisting Parkview maintain a safe and orderly environment. They are quick to respond and support our efforts to take care of children. Thank you and kudos to them.
