Land Administrator, Reno, NV
This company is a leading gold-focused mining company in the Intermountain States. Their significant sector knowledge and financial strength have positioned the company for sustainable long-term growth. Their cross-functional, fully-integrated, in-house team of professionals have significant expertise in geology, mine & metallurgical engineering, environmental and permitting, operations and project development. They have a need for a Land Administrator to oversee and maintaining the real property they manage. The position will liaise with numerous departments and disciplines to ensure compliance with real property obligations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and update company’s internal land data system, and use such system to monitor and ensure compliance with real property obligations
- Perform land administration duties and liaise with lessors and lessees
- Ensure that claims are maintained in good standing with timely Federal & County claim filings, and payment of local property taxes
- Track and ensure prompt payment of third-party payment obligations (e.g. claim holders)
- Prepare internal and third-party reports relating to the real property managed by EMG
- Liaise with internal departments and disciplines to ensure compliance with land agreements and other obligations
- Liaise with GIS Specialist to prepare maps as needed, including land status maps and maps to assist with exploration, resources and site activities
- Monitor mineral and surface rights and changes in land status and laws
- Assist in evaluating and negotiating joint ventures, acquisitions, relinquishments, leases, access, waivers, etc., as they relate to real property matters
- Identify and remedy claim imperfections on the ground and via field checks in ArcGIS or MapInfo
- Identify and analyse changes to GIS application software and related systems
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Natural Resource Management or related engineering degree.
- 5 plus years of progressively responsible experience in land/land management.
- Landman certification in Nevada, or member of Nevada Landman Association (NLA or AAPL)
- Knowledge of in Landfolio Land Management Software – Trimble to manage claims.
- Must be legal to work in the U.S. and able to show documentation.
- Possess a valid Driver’s license and be able to operate a light vehicle.
