Sample Letter to a NEW Family
To: The Sam Clarke Family,
Welcome to the 4-H Family! We are very excited that you have chosen to become members of our club – the Four Leaf Clovers.
We wanted to share some information about our club and what it means to be a 4-H family. So please read carefully.
The Four Leaf Clovers meet the second Sunday of each month at the EchoCommunity Centermeeting room. Meetings start at 7:00 p.m. and end at 8:15 – 8:30 p.m. You will enjoy getting to know the other 11 families and the 24 members in our club.
Our club has fun learning together in 4-H. We believe that “4-H is a family affair” so we always invite and expect the entire family to attend meetings. Parents are involved in the club as well as the 4-H members.
Here are some specific expectations that our 4-H Club has:
- Members will enroll in at least one 4-H project. (There are over 50 fun projects to choose from.
- Members will finish one 4-H record for each project enrolled in.
- Members will attend as many club meetings as possible.
- Members will give one talk or demonstration each year. (We will help you get ready for this.)
- Each family is asked to serve on one club committee.
- Each family is asked to serve light refreshments once during the year.
And this is what you can expect from the 4-H Club:
- Fun learning with kids of all ages.
- Bulletins that will help you learn.
- Adults and members who are happy to help you.
- Leaders who answer your questions.
- Recognition ribbons, medals and awards for being a 4-H member.
- Becoming one of the 249 families growing closer together in 4-H in WinneshiekCounty.
We are looking forward to seeing you November 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the EchoCommunity Center for our next 4-H meeting.
Sincerely yours in 4-H,
John SmithSally Appel
