Weekly Theme: Have a Heart – Other Activities
Sweet Treat
To make a single candy rose you will need 2 Hershey's Kisses, red cellophane wrap (or colored plastic wrap), Scotch tape, green pipe cleaners, scissors, green tissue paper, green floral tape (optional) and ribbon (optional).
Pull the paper strips out from the candy kisses. Tape the two kisses together so that the large flat ends are matched up. Cut out a 5 x 5-inch square piece of red cellophane. Wrap this piece of cellophane wrap over the top point of the kiss and down to the bottom. Twist the excess cellophane into a "tail" at the bottom point. Twist a green pipe cleaner a few times around the "tail" to form the stem of the rose. Cut a piece of green tissue paper about five or six inches long and a couple of inches wide. Fold the piece in half and cut the open side into a leaf shape. Twist the pipe cleaner around the middle of the tissue paper toward the top half of the stem to form a leaf for the rose. Use green floral tape to attach the candy to the pipe cleaner to make it stick better. A ribbon can be tied to the stem just below the leaf if desired.

· Markers
· Heart shaped stickers, optional
· Fabric to cut into heart shapes, optional
· Yarn, buttons or other trims; optional
