Please may I remind everyone to avoid parking in the bus bay on Beechwood Avenue at drop-off and collection times. There have been times over the past two weeks when the bus has been unable to park in the correct space.
SECURITY OF BIKES
Despite the cycle shelter being locked at night, we have had a scooter and bike go missing. Please ensure that you take your scooters and bikes home every evening.
SHOE BOX APPEAL
Following the success of last years shoe box appeal we will once again be supporting Operation Christmas Child. Further information will follow and the children will have an assembly about the project. In the meantime if you wish to support the charity please start collecting your shoe boxes.

HARVEST
We will be celebrating harvest during the week beginning 4thOctober. On Tuesday 5th October the children will have a special assembly led by Reverend David Lewis. This year we will be collecting food to give to local residents in the community. During Harvest week we would really appreciate food items and empty boxes to be brought into school.
CHAIR OF GOVERNORS
After ten years of dedicated service, Paul Millard has stepped down as Chair of Governors. I am sure that you would all like to join me in thanking Paul for all the support and guidance that he has given to the school. Jacqui Burke will be taking over as the new Chair.
ACHIEVEMENT LETTER
We will be continuing with our achievement letter this year to celebrate all of the success that the children have outside of school. The letter will be sent out on a monthly basis, so entries need to be in by the last Monday in the month. If the children have something that they would like to share with the whole school community please ensure that they write it on a piece of paper, including their name and year group and put it into the achievement letter box in the entrance hall. Thank you.

STARZ – SAFETY ON-LINE BY Y5/6
Last week we took part in a Starz detectives activity. It was about keeping safe online. It was about a girl named Tiffany and a boy called Leon who were on the Internet. We found out that to keep safe on the Internet we should only talk to people we know and we should never give out personal information. It was a really good afternoon.
HIDDEN TALENTS
We always appreciate the help that we receive from parents who come into school and assist in the classroom. There are often many areas in the curriculum and during extra-curricular sessions where we could benefit from extra support. If you feel that you have a particular interest, e.g. science or painting or talent in any area e.g. baking or sport and would like to come in and help in school please fill in the slip below and return to the school office. Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
Paul Belzar
