LAWN BOWLS

Time:Coaches/Teachers Meetingat 9:15am for a 9:30am start.
Teams Provide:
- All of their own bowls equipment including bowls, measuring tapes, chalk, etc.(some bowls can be borrowed from Ringwood Bowls Club)
- A matching pair of bowls for each player.
- First-aid kit.
Team Sheets:Competing teams must present a completed team sheet to the convener on the day of competition.
Teams are restricted to use a maximum of 5 players for the day.For schools with more than one team, team members cannot change teams during the day.
CONDITIONS:
1. Lawn Bowls will be conducted under the rules of Bowls Australia unless otherwise stated.
2. Sectional Play; teams will be split into eight pools ( A, B, C and D ). The winners of each poolwill progress to the Finals.
3. Play will be in 2 Bowl Triples, and teams may consist of boys only, girls only or mixed.
4. In all matches play will continue for 5 ends or at the ringing of a bell (at 30 minutes), whichever comes first.At “time”, the end in progress must be completed. If during play, the Jack is knocked out of bounds,it is to be placed on the centre 2 metre mark. Matches will be decided by ‘shots up’.
5. Points are to be awarded for all matches to determine the winners of each pool on the following basis:
Win: 2 points Draw: 1 point Loss: 0 points
Should two teams finish the competition with the same number of points, then the winner of the match between these teams will assume the higher position. If more than two teams are equal or if the result between the two teams was a draw then position will be determined on ends won and if these are equal then percentage will be used.
6. The Finals will also continue for 5 ends or 30 minutes (or a bell signal).

7. Flat soled shoes must be worn.
8. The convener has the power to apply the following penalty - Schools that arrive after the
starting time...Two shots per 10 minutes ( or part thereof ) to their opponents.
